AA Class Drops
#1311
Yes. Latest information here (pretty authoritative) is 40 a class then ramp up to 50 towards the end. (Remember only 1 class in Dec due to the holidays, which is normal.)
If 40 continues, hires will be in 880 - 890 range.
Early in the year (and still listed here on APC) was a forecast of 900. (This was much debated, I still have scars to prove it!)
Recently, people have said the forecast is 930.
If the last few classes increase to 50 a class, the answer to your question is, “Yes, pretty much spot on.”
For reference, 2017 had 645 hires.

Lol wat?
Was this a serious comment?
Lol No- I was poking fun at the ridiculousness of the rumor mills lately

I remember when the CnR crowd, and even here, thought Doug was gonna sell off all our Airbii/737s and buy 500 E190's at Group I pay.
We've already spent so much on new airplanes so far and are even deferring deliveries to put off spending cash, I don't see the company buying more new ones.
I will admit I totally saw myself in the left seat of that C series doing hour legs around the Midwest though.

Delta has committed to 75 of the A220 series. It would not be a wise decision to eliminate Group 1 just because at this moment AA is not purchasing them. Plans can and do change. Unless, by eliminating Group 1, one wants to cede flying of future 100 - 130 seat planes to the regionals.

Group I? It's the same size as an A319.
I didn't even deice six times this season on the 80. Weather has mostly been awesome, can't say that for those going up and down the east coast.
