G4 guys avg in the 40's but even some of them max'd out. So it's a bit of a crap shoot.

Holy crap. When I was long call in CLT a few years ago it was never more than a 3 day redeye/slash trip a week. Too bad APA didn't have the mandatory 24 hours off after a reserve assignment like we used to. What a difference

AA is definitely different than Eagle. I've never worked for SWA. I don't know you (afaik), but....
I'd say AA. Get senior quickly (relatively speaking) and sit right seat in DFW soaking up the 1-3 day trips that are the vast majority as compared to 4-days.
Then again, with a sugar momma I'd probably be on the mainlineAF plan in my own backyard, minus the smoke (and it'd probably be Van Halen).

A friend that is quite a bit junior, no vacation, flew about 8 and 3 transitions to SC.
Takes a little detective work to figure out where you really sit in the order with this system, but being number 2 or 3 LC wasn't a bad deal.

Wow, what a difference base by base. In LGA I haven't been transitioned to short call even once. But then again there are a ton of local guys who bid short call.
If you're a commuter, long call is golden. Almost like commuting to a line.

Probably because I am jaded towards AA. After being treated like crap at Eagle for many years it's hard to just let that go and think things will be rosy with the same people running the show on that side of things. I certainly "hope" things are better on the AA side, many of the flows have said it is better, but the more I read/hear lately, it sounds like more of the same trends towards less days off and crappy schedules on that side of the fence, (just higher pay rates). The reason I ask is nobody talks much about good schedules at AA on here like all the other Majors do. So I am wondering if there isn't many?
I honestly don't know about SWA, it seems they are treated MUCH better from talking to people and countless jumpseat rides/riders, but I have never worked for them so I don't know firsthand.

Things could be better here, hopefully the raise is the first step in a new direction. But, so much of the misery has been self generated. If you look at the other boards, you see the same type comments for every airline.
Happiness =expectations/reality. You know those lego flying videos where the pilot(captain) says "Work, work, work...)"? I thought there needs to be one that says "Yes voters, yes voters, calendar day, calendar day, expense my crew meal, expense my crew meal..."
My cousin just went to SWA and couldn't be happier.
Good luck with your decision and if you decide to flow, welcome aboard.

MIA 737 Domestic does. You'll get used to being junior manned trip after trip. They'll always find a nice LGA, BWI, IAD, or EWR turn for you on your last day of reserve, even if you're coming off a 4 day.
