You are telling a guy who has made it clear that he does NOT like his company, and has a username of "Regionalsuck" to stay where he's at because it's so much better there?

Regarding reserve at AA.
I used to be a lineholder driving to work. (737 F/O.) Flew 90hrs/month, by choice. Worked to be about 15on/15 off.
Recently upgraded to 737 CA but now commuting to reserve. Short commute (dca-lga). Holding Long Call reserve.
Here's the rub: believe it or not, I actually have more time at home commuting to Long Call reserve than I ever did driving to work as a line holder.
Reason: They don't use me every reserve day. Sure, I do fly a reasonable amount, including close to breaking guarantee (73hr guarantee.) But since I'm not used every day of reserve, and it's Long Call (min 12hr callout), I can sit at home on those days they don't use me. So it really works out closer to 17-18 days at home vs 15 when I held a line.
If you live in base, short call reserve is even better - they don't fly nearly as much as long call. So you'd be at home even more.
All these horror stories about reserve and getting used and abused - haven't seen it at all. I'm actually digging being on LC reserve more than when I held a line.
With this 8% pay increase, along with fixes to min calendar day and LTD hopefully coming soon, I do feel we are on the right track here at AA.
Just one pilot's input....YMMV.
Good luck with your decision. Don't go by all the negativity you read on these boards - AA is a great career and it is night & day different from Envoy.
