Sounds like industry leading pay/immediate parity is being tossed out by mgt for 81 or 88 seat scope. I am hearing grumblings of thinking this may be agreed to by the BOD. I would thinking any scope concessions in this enviornment would be crazy. Even crazier to agree to scope concessions for parity a year early. And even crazier when DL may up it again before our 2016 parity.

Thoughts?

APA was the first to agree to a "B" scale in the 1980"s, in exchange for growth.
Delta ALPA relaxed scope to allow the first RJ's for higher Mainline pay rates.

What's that famous quote - 'those that don't know history are doomed to make it up as they go forward'?

Why not just give up group 2 all together so we can all be wide body pilots?

The answer seems to be "yes" and "no". I've heard (and I could be wrong) no mention of DALPA relaxing their scope to capitalize further on their already superior CBA in relation to AA pilots. Yet, here we are already squarely in the Delta pilots compensation rear-view mirror and possibly considering paying dearly for only one component of compensation that still leaves us trailing significantly behind them ?

I don't think DALPA is considering subsidizing one compensation component improvement by further sacrificing the very foundation of their job security, so it would appear only APA might be considering taking another step backward to the detriment to the industry, so DALPA appears not to be airing a rerun, while APA might be.

I thought the last email about scope (months ago) said that the union had not given the NAC permission to negotiate any scope concessions ? Anyone else remember that?

I see what Parker's up to here. He's been after these draconian pay cuts and 12/4 pay caps at the regionals, not to save even more money on an already weak cost unit over there, but to drive that cost disparity between your regional lift providers and the mainline so high, that he'll have all the ammo he needs to try and yank scope out from under you. The Eagle, er Envoy pilots saw this coming and rightly put their foot down and told him "NO"! Not once, but Three times. Unfortunately, PSA and PDT couldn't see all this and told him "Yes". If Parker can drive the cost of the regionals down enough, he'll be asking you to give up your 190's, or group 2 aircraft to the regionals, or threaten your pay under that you agreed to in the MOU. What'll be next? MD80's, 737's? Don't fall for that sh!t!!! Don't give up a d@mned thing!!! Not like he can threaten to shut you down, like he threatened to do at Eaglevoy.

There is no reason to ever entertain a proposal as dangerous as scope relief. We have already witnessed how damaging this can be to our careers. This seems like Doug and his team are trying to throw the long ball hoping they connect. "What have we got to lose?"

We will achieve pay parity, it's only a matter of time. Patience is going to help us in the long run. This is our opportunity to do this right and make something good come out of the contract. We already took a huge hit in our health benefits, I don't plan on giving up anything else in the mean time.

How many billions of dollars has this pilot group given this company to help them survive? I'll gladly help this company fly 81-88 seat jets for mainline benefits and mainline pay on the mainline certificate (not outsourced in any fashion).

Speaking of, what's the history of Mesa and them having more than 76 seat jets?
