Smile. Be someone they'd want to fly with.

There is another thread for application questions. I don't know how many more times I can read the same stupid questions over and over and over without going postal on someone.

Hmmm.. If I decide to go to Allegiant, I hope I don't get paired with you. PM would be appropriate. Better yet, keep it to yourself..Thanks for the advice though.

Seriously, what's the deal with all these guys who think they can just apply and get a class date? A lot has changed since the contract, and Allegiant may actually have higher standards than some of the legacies. I recommended a friend who was a regional captain with a decade of experience and was a LCA. They shot this person down after the video interview for no apparent reason. This person got picked up by SWA within a month. So who knows. For those who want it it's a great job, and not like any other airline out there, in a good way. So do some serious research, think about the business model, and why you want to work there VERSUS OTHER AIRLINES. Allegiant doesn't seem interested in those not looking to stay, and it's pretty easy to tell. The video seems to be the top screening tool so dress up and put in your best face. Attitude is EVERYTHING. If you get invited to LAS it's yours to lose. Good luck.

Allegiant has their share of tools just like any place else unfortunately.

If someone fits management's target demographic they basically can get an interview at will. When I met a recruiter (and was basically offered a job on the spot) they told me they are looking for guys with a few years at a regional, maybe just upgraded or has been a captain less than a year. You answered your own question re: your well qualified buddy. He already went to southwest, which they probably figured he would do if they hired him. So, if you are not quite up to competitive mins for the legacies (or have no degree etc...) you can basically interview at G4 whenever you're ready. If you are competitive, you better figure out how to convince them that you want to be there for the long haul, and quick.
