How are airframes awarded to newhires? Is it possible to pick the maddog along with a CJO?

No. You won't know what's offered until you show up for class, then you'll bid by class seniority.

Class seniority is based off of lowest last 4 of SSN. Vacancies are as needed throughout the system. It's been about half Bus and half 80 the last 6 months with a few 757 spots in there. I would imagine the MD80 and definitely the 757 vacancies are going to begin to disappear in a big way, given the transition. IWA is already going all Airbus, PIE is next in August followed by AVL in November, the 757 in Dec, and then SFB and LAS by "late 2019".

There have also been all Airbus and all MD 80 classes in the last 6 months. It really is luck of the draw. However, the way they are running vacancy bids right now, you can get a pretty good idea of what the next month class will be each time. April should be a mixed class of Airbus and 80.

All MD80. 5 LAS and 6 SFB.

The company hired a lot of -80 guys in the last two years, as they all come off lock I would expect to see a lot more -80 hiring going forward.
