You need facetime at the job fairs however, MD-80's will be the exception not the rule in new hire classes from here on out. I would expect a few more in Jan/Feb and maybe one more class before summer and that's probably going to be the show.
Your DC-9 type rating will help if you meet the right people. Have you tried emailing our flight ops recruiter? She may be able to help push you along.
Know this though, being junior on the MD-80 will be a miserable existence over the next 18-24 months while we transition. You will have lots of reserve and probably be relegated to LAS or SFB depending on which base has -80's last. I recently was told SFB looks like it will be last now.

The process remains relatively unchanged. It happened very quickly for me. (less than a month from application to job offer)
1. Apply online - (no job fair, no internal rec's)
2. Offered Tech evaluation (MD-80 FMS CBT), and Video interview
3. Personality survey - Very much like the Hogan test (maybe it is?)
4. Invite for an interview
Interview started at 7:30. Quick overview of the company. Two person HR interview. Questions were straight forward. They really seemed like they were trying to get to know you and figure out if you'd be happy at Allegiant. Flying skills were evaluated in a MD-80 FTD. Basic manuevers and finish with an ILS. Most of us felt like we could have flown better. After last person finished, they met and reviewed everyone's performance. They let everyone know before they left if they got the job. They whole process was completed by lunch. We had a strong group of candidates that day. Mix of 121 and military, most had 8k to 10k hours with one over 13k hours.
I didn't know much about Allegiant before two moths ago when a co-worker at my current company left for Allegiant. Once I got past the bad press, I was sure that I found an overlooked company. They have very strong financial numbers and a different business model from the legacy carriers. For me it's a good fit. A chance to upgrade measured in less than a decade, home basing (no overnights), and decent pay make it work for me. If widebody's or hub and spoke flying are your goal, wait for a cargo company or international carrier to call.
Thank you to the members here who have helped me. I'll see you on the line.

Competitive Application
I just updated my resume with Allegiant as I live in Orlando and SFB has a big draw to me for a long term job. I've searched the thread for competitive times and what current hires have in class. As far as experience and hours, what seems to be the avg? Can anyone shed some light on what it takes to get the call?
I'm around 6000TT 2000 ME 1000TPIC

I will never understand why some people view reserve as miserable. Sure if you work somewhere else and a crew scheduling call sends you packing for 5 days with 4 EWR overnights in January or if you commute. My experience here has typically been flying only one or two days a months. I even called them once after a month and a half to make sure I was still employed. Reserve here has been one of the best experiences I've ever had at a job but I do live in base and enjoy lots of time with family, friends and hobbies.
Go bid afternoon reserve on the 80 in either SFB or LAS and then report back in 3 months. You're on the bus, you have no idea what those guys go through.

My mistake, I should have clarified post CBA. Things have changed now that there is a min reserve coverage required these days.

Afternoon reserve at Allegiant is miserable. You are left cleaning up the messes that pile up through the day. Sit afternoon reserve in any base in FL, no sense in specifying a base because you are just that, FLORIDA reserve covering all bases.
