Most junior pilot in SFB is a 4/16 hire. Current vacancy has SFB spots. Junior FL bases are FLL and PGD.

I just got the email for a video interview and questionnaire. I am looking at LAX, OAK, and LAS as a base in that order. Does anyone know the likelihood of getting one of these bases out of training? My last 4 SS# is below 1900.

Is there a prep for the sim ride in the interview/ information on what to expect?

I will have more questions in the future, but am just getting started on the process, Thanks!

You will get OAK or LAX out of training most likely, if you get the Airbus. If by chance you get the MD80, you'll get LAS with relative ease.

Just be yourself on the video thing and look respectable… in other words, don’t do it by the pool in your tank and trunks. I’ve heard it asks 3 questions: Why Allegiant, any failures, any violations? I think you get 3 attempts per question. I know nothing about the questionnaire, sorry.

The sim evaluation is piece-o-cake. Expect 757 or 80 sim, small talk to put you at ease, takeoff and level off with no autopilot or auto throttles, autopilot on, given hold instructions, determine entry. Vectors to ILS. After stabilized, automation and FD come off, breakout around 500 feet and land. You don’t need to know profiles, flaps settings, or anything. You just fly. It’s to make sure your scan still exits after flying glass.

I interviewed 2015. Info may be old.

There are a million flights a day from ATL to FLL and TPA. PIE is 20 minutes from TPA without traffic. Variable Base Domicile (VBD) is also an option... G4 speak for the company buying you a hotel room and rental car in the bases they need more staffing. You could be in LAX one month, FLL the next... slow months they home base you (don't always plan on this). It seems that VBD guys are less happy, especially those with families or a girlfriend at home... just my observation. AVL may be an ok option.

Remember, being Jr. and on RSV can blow, especially for commuters. Don’t plan on “4 on 3 off” type schedules while you fall into this category. When SAP rules are in effect, it could be easier.
