Yup. I'm in it. Also they really screwed something up with the bidding. Originally the guy came to class saying we had 5 slots in PIT and 2 each in OAK and PGD. I have a friend from the August class and he noticed, as well as others I'm sure, that there hadnt been a vacancy notice. So now we are bidding on the current vacancy notice which has much more to choose from. But yes, we are all Bus and we're told next month will be split and December will have some 75 slots (lucky SOBs).

Default VBD

Have there been VBD slots for the 80 and Airbus awarded in previous classes?
Thanks

There's only going to be a vacancy bid when there are slots left over after they run the standing bid.

The current vacancy notice has several VBD A320 FO positions.

August was the only class that had 80 slots. Next possibility for 80 is either November or December.

What are you talking about? I wouldn't trade my QOL for any legacy career. I average 17-22 days off barely being in the top 1/3. I can block 12+ days in a row without vacation if I need to travel but I prefer not to work more than 1 or 2 days in a row. Sure this doesn't apply to 80 bases but as airbus's are added there will be more flying on Tues/Wed/Sat in the couple 80 bases left to allow blocks off. I haven't stayed in a hotel in over a year outside of PC's. My neighbors think I'm unemployed I'm home so much. I haven't seen any garbage.

Out of curiosity, how long is it taking for a new hire to hold SFB these days?

Ha… haha! 18 days off in November, group of 4 days off over Thanksgiving, two groups of 3 days off, four groups of 2 days off… I don’t work more than 2 days in a row.

Wait, wait, it gets even better! ON THE DAYS I ACTUALLY WORK: doze until 9am, eat breakfast with the family, hit the gym (or go fishing, or the beach, or NFL Sunday), eat lunch with the family… 2 pm: 10 min drive to the airport, 1 landing in the logbook, home by 8-9 pm, crack a beer, eat dinner with the family, watch news, then I sleep next to my wife .

Wait, it gets better! I make $96/hr.

Waaaait, it gets even better! I’ve been here for 1.5 years with 200+ FO’s behind me... and some of the best dudes I've flown with.

Don’t forget, this place has been a “real” airline for only 16 years… Yes, there are some growing pains… exactly what you’d expect from a growing company in its teenage years with it's FIRST pilot CBA. However, if it’s this great after 16 years, I can’t wait to see what the next 16 years will hold. Any move I make will be a decrease in QOL!

Now your turn, A** Hat!
