What are you referring to?

I'm surprised they haven't run another quarterly bid. I'd have thought the spring one would be out by the end of April. With new hires they've always (long as I've been here) had vacancies just for the class and not advertised them to the whole group. I've also noticed that the monthly (give or take) base transfers happen without a real vacancy ever going out to the group. Only for upgrade and transitions do they ever post that stuff. It needs to change.

After speaking with others at different airlines this practice is not only bad it is a quick way to [bake a cake] off the pilot group and union. Certainly hope this stuff is part of the contract.

Wow, that is really really frustrating if true. Can we get some confirmation on that and maybe a statement from the union? This company lacks transparency, with the CBI, negotiations, and now vacancy bidding. Beware what you are getting into if you come here. Expect to be treated without respect.

I was wrong. SB has been doing as needed vacancy moves without telling anyone except those that are awarded something. I really hope the union is all over this in the contract.

You hit it with the lack of transparency. I don't see what they are trying to hide anyway, we have no contract to enforce anything.
I'm in total agreeance with you, that needs to stop and needs to be grievable once we have a contract. I do remember SB saying that she pulls people as needed though so it is really important to keep your bid reflecting what you want. Doesn't make it right, but that's how she works.

Now, WHERE'S THE [sloppy joe] SPRING BID!!!???

Always get a chuckle when the newhire switches from happy to be here to asking me if I can believe what just happened to them.

Sorry to hear it happened to you.

But all that aside I do hope we get a good contract for all of us and those who have yet to come here.

I'm certainly not defending their practices but Bingo and Revision 3 did say numerous times that vacancies between the quarterly bids would be filled off the standing bid. Looks like whoever is doing it now is continuing that practice. That being said, if a new hire is awarded something that you have on your standing bid, send an email to your CP, they'll try to correct it if they can.

Since when have they done anything that is industry standard?

At least they publish bids now, occasionally. In the past, that never happened. You just got a phone call asking if you wanted to be based in XYZ.

Default Beware!!!

I was just told by a management contact that EG and his flight ops team are randomly downloading CVR data to gather intel and are using the info for disciplinary purposes. This info falls in line with why our FOQA program in currently shut down. I was also informed that EG did the same thing at Mesa and actually fired people over CVR conversations. Watch you back.
