It's also not bad if you live near a steady VBD base (PGD) and can elect the hotel option and be TDY but at home. Can actually make quite a bit more cash (hotel option) doing this. I'll let all those so familiar explain this side of it if they would like. If you apply and interview then show up in class and are pi$$ed you got an aircraft and base we have, there is nothing anyone can do for you.

Take a look at the compensation section. The whole section, not just the pay rates.

I guess it's relative. I live in base and you couldn't pay me enough to bid VBD. If I didn't live in base, then maybe...but the way they run it (may go from one base straight to the next at the end of the month with no chance to get home) combined with the typical 80 schedules would get old real quick. There's a reason the VBD has gone so junior.

I guess the better option would be to pile into the back of a crappy RJ piloted by a 23 year old fo and a 56 year old captain with 3 DUI's. Expressjet used to advertise FA jobs on pizza boxes. With the quality applicants answering those ads, I'm sure you'll be in good hands. Then you can enjoy your 6 hour delay in ORD before finally making it to Tampa 12 hours late.

Yeah, it's good that G4 gets real quality applicants, not people like those in your post.
Mumbai: Drunk US national spends night in jail, tells T2 officials he was abducted - News
So which one should be G4's new slogan?: "You get in trouble in Mumbai? then Come by, and interview with AAY" or "G4 : Don't be shy, even if you got tanked in Mumbai, just apply"
