I've recently applied and I plan on going to the next chief pilot meet and greet (missed the last one). We've had a couple guys here at Lakes get hired at UA this year but I haven't heard any examples of Algt. Does Allegiant hire pilots without jet experience? I've read almost all of this thread and it sounds like it will be a nice move up from where I'm at.
Also, is the pay scale on APC accurate? I'm currently maxed out on the GLA FO pay scale so $41 would be a large pay increase for me and my family. Could this first year pay be lowered in other bands? Also, are the lines on the east coast (Florida, CVG, PIT) still completely all day trips? I just find this hard to believe so sorry for asking. Also has their been any recent new hires going to the 80 (haven't seen a recent post on this) since I know they are getting phased out? I would gladly fly any plane if hired but I really would prefer the MD80 if given a choice. If anyone could help with any of these questions I would be very appreciative.

Yes the pay is accurate on here and yes it is a band system so it can go lower. We are currently in the highest band so our pay can only go down. It's tied to profit margin.
It's rare but there are all Airbus classes. It's more common to have all 80 classes or a mix of the 2. The 80 almost always goes junior in class.
I hate to say it but you can get a bigger pay raise at other regionals based on first year. Second year we are more but there is so much $hit going on that the pay comes with a huge price. Second, DO NOT commute. You would be lucky to get more than 3 days at home for a very long time if you try to commute. Good luck and I don't blame you for looking to move on from Lakes but you have other options.

The wife agreed to move to PGD, SFB or CVG, basically anywhere with cheap cost of living. We are struggling financially right now in Denver. Also, I'm on my 5th year at GLA and I finally accepted an upgrade class but 5th year captain pay is only $38 here so I would rather move on.

Keep in mind that per diem is basically nothing at Allegiant and there is little opportunity for soft pay. My experience has been that going from the famous $36.62 to Allegiant's $41 has been a decrease of anywhere from $300-600/mo in take-home pay.
The insurance that you choose could greatly hurt your bottom line and you might end up on the health insurance exchanges for a few months in order to cover the gap in coverage. I can't remember the exact details, but a couple of the family guys in my class needed temporary coverage.
Also, plan to be in Vegas for 90 days for training.
I'm not attempting to sway you one way or another, but these are factors that sometimes escape consideration. Best of luck to you.
