Anyone else listen to the conference call? I found it to be more political than usual, many more vague answers and not much concrete info. I can understand why to an extent.
I ended up turning it off after a half hour so there may be big things that i missed but here's the lowdown for those of you interested...
1. No new bases in 2016. No texas base for at least 3 years (he also mentioned San Diego and one or two other cities along with that). Indy "may" come in the future (he didn't say anything specific per say, other than it was a good example of what we need to base an airplane). O, and we're not going to start flying to Alaska. Seriously, some of the questions people submit!
2. 800 pilots needed for 100 airplanes, 100 airplanes forecasted for 'hopefully' 2019. I don't believe this includes management pilots, training pilots, pilots on leave, etc. I think it's just line pilots; so I'm pretty sure that figure is more like 1000 total pilots.
3. all airbus by 2020, JB said that they may be able to do it by 2019 depending on how things go on the used a/c market.
4. And of course... Obtaining a contract is very important, and they are still able to hire good pilots for now and as many as they need. However, attrition is "more than we would like" which lead to another comment of how attaining a contract is a big priority. Nothing that ti heard was very specific about the contract so take this all with a grain of salt.
5. Working on tactical ways to improve our on-time performance
I'm sure there's other key points I'm missing, but that's just some stuff I took from it, like I said, it seemed to me more vague this time around.
Let's hope this attrition causes some real action in the next negotiating session!

They had seven hull losses. They were really lucky they did not kill more people. They broke the back of one aircraft with a inflight spoiler deployment on short final. They had two electrical fires where the aircraft did not fly again. They crashed a 737 at ATL after it suffered its 2nd or 3rd hyd failure in two days. That one missed going down a drop off by inches and being a disaster. They destroyed another flying through a t Storm ect...
