Still won't help you. Even if the 2 on the bus go back they probably won't be replaced. No TDY's for SFB captains on the bus for June since the homeless base opened and we're now over staffed. On the 80 side, it seems to only make sense that the commuter goes back. The other guys have a good gig and the time to go was when they were offering the $100k.

MD-80 VBD will be quickest upgrade, usually. You are based at a different base every month as part of VBD. You basically bid for your base each month then bid your schedule within that base based on your overall seniority. Some guys got lucky and lived near a base and were able to bid that base while VBD based. Because a lot of our flying is seasonal they use the VBD to plus up a high demand base for a short time.

Typically 80 is VBD then LAS but if your wondering what base you would be TDYd to I'd have to look at a few things. 320 generally is PGD or FLL. But when bases are opening and closing its anyone's guess because that shakes everything up. Rumor is 2 new bases, one being JAX next spring/summer. The other guess is a Midwest base.

My guess is zero.

Training question, plan for 3+ months from day one to type ride on the bus. No idea for the 80. My info may be a bit dated so maybe someone more recent can chime in about training.

I will second the 3+ months for training.
Our class started Feb 22, we had our first 2 people pass orals yesterday. The training format is: indoc/ground school, SIT's, oral, Sims, then your type ride. Most of our class will be done with orals in next 2 weeks. We have 2 that are not scheduled to start SITs until end of first week of May. We as a class have had our sims removed from our schedules. We do not know when we will be starting. Rumor has it that it will be a month off...... time will tell.
