Be prepared for that to continue to happen. 3 months start to finish is insane. Those small annoyances in the training department only grow once you hit the line. The training department is only a small taste of what's to come. I was pretty optimistic when I started also but after about the third no show instructor for training I realized this company doesn't value their employees time. Good luck and I hope you are doing a lot of group/self study, you're going to need it.

Allegiant management has stated attrition is 15% for first officers and high single digits for captains. That jibes with the union's latest update for negotiations; the company whining about attrition and a need for us to once again pay for their expansion of shareholder value. The latest class of new hires are all MD80s; to bad for them no shopping that Bus type at JetBlue. Like their predecessors, darn. And word is the next new hire class behind them will be all MD80s. Plan accordingly eager beavers.
Allegiant management actions have once again spoken louder than their worthless words. JB is blowing sunshine, stating he wants a contract this year. He again or anyone else who can make a decision is a no-show at negotiations. Anyone coming here thinking a new contract is around the corner and management telling you so, is lying.
On a happy note adherence to FAA medical standards, as mandated per FAR compliance is having a good and visible effect. Keep up the good work. And remember proper FAR compliance is your friend. Extend(s)? Nope, that's for E.D.

Just know that everything at an airline is seniority based and waiting around for the airbus might not be the best options. As pointed out in other threads the management can also change things such as your 2 year seat lock in type, so if they need bus pilots you could get released from the seat lock. Your base could also transition out of the MD80 to the bus which would require retraining of the base.
Also thanks Stok1, I was incorrect, there is no contract, just an agreement with the pilots as to what the work rules are supposed to be. I was just trying to make sure that whomever comes to G4 knows what to expect walking in the door.
As for training, it has not been too bad, I will let you all know after my first SIT's. The instructors have varied from excellent to lets just say they were new and needed a few more practice runs in front a live audience. Once they transition over to airbus training procedures (later this summer) I believe that will help, at least for the Bus pilots.

Knowing my own reasons and some (very senior) guys who left, it boiled down to terrible, careless leadership. It never got better, only worse. Short term house of cards. Buy trashed out airplanes, contract out maintenance to lowest bidder, churn and burn employees (high turnover=cheap wages). Inexperience and associated incompetence and low morale permeates every corner of the operation. Same fast-buck basic ingredients as Valujet. Social deviants and outcasts hiring more like-minded 'yes men' into positions of authority to make lives miserable and ensure more of the same. It's no wonder it's such a mess. People leave because they lose hope and don't see a future. Too many better alternatives where careers are not threatened or jeopardized and needs are taken care of (pay, schedules, training, retirement). For some, G4 schedules outweigh the negatives but most guys that I know see (or saw) it as a stepping stone or a temporary gig good enough until a solid company calls. Shame, it held such promise and most were hopeful it would have been a career airline.

Just remember this...
This is not your regional with different payrates. This is a minimum contract with FAA mandated work rules.
10 days off for reserve.
11 days off for mixed reserve/lineholders.
Lineholders get out and backs and between 12-17 days off a month. Sound good? Well then remove the upgrade in your decision making. Those who upgraded in the last year will likely not hold a line for years.
