I've spoke with a couple guys and they are saying not anytime soon except for the charters.

As an outsider, I think the overnight and realistic schedules are paramount to their recruiting efforts.

They need to be able to offer a lifestyle comparable to the other ULCC's. Which means commutable schedules. Being home overnight means nothing when the city you are based in is a dump.

There are no Northeast bases. Where 22% of the population lives.

That makes sense, more than calling the bases dumps. It's all about QOL and Allegiant is the only airline that offers a domicile where I want to live.

I think if there was money to be made basing airplanes up there, we would have already done so. I would venture a guess and say that with every other airline heavy in the NE, the resources are better allocated elsewhere.

I understand that logic - and I shouldn't have said "dumps".

My point was ultimately, if they want to keep getting solid candidates then they will have to make commutable lifestyles, if they insist on day trips.
