Without question, AAY pilots are as good as they come. Not just in terms of skill (a MUST if you work there) but in character, personality and unity. Awesome group. I don't miss the management, but I miss flying with them.

What's left? Pay, retirement, scheduling, scope, union security......anything else? If they indeed T/A'd any of those sections I would be shocked.

Allegiant Air
March 11, 2016

Dear Pilots,

We just completed another productive negotiating session with Local 1224. Both sides built on the positive momentum created at last month’s meetings and made additional progress toward reaching an agreement.

Even though there is still much more work to be done and significant issues for Allegiant and Local 1224 to work out, I am pleased to report that during this session, we reached tentative agreements on several important contract sections.

Additional negotiating sessions with Local 1224 are already scheduled for April and May, which we hope will lead to continued progress. Our next session is scheduled for April 6th-8th in Philadelphia.

With both sides presenting serious proposals and working together, we are moving closer to a deal.

It is important to recognize that the final contract must reflect Allegiant’s unique business model, which contributes directly to the growth of the company and creates opportunities for our pilots. Our “out and back” network of routes with virtually no competition, low cost structure and low aircraft utilization combine to provide a successful roadmap both for Allegiant’s and your future growth.

We will continue to work hard with Local 1224 in this process and keep you updated on developments.

Sincerely,
Trent

Trent Porter
Vice President, Financial Planning & Analysis

from g4pilots.com:

A COMPARISON OF ALLEGIANT TO OTHER AIRLINES

Allegiant Air has a business model that is unique in the U.S. airline industry. Allegiant cannot be compared to the Big 4 and other airlines that operate with completely different business models and in some cases are more than 10 times our size. A closer comparison is between Allegiant and other ultra-low cost-carriers (ULCC) like Frontier or Spirit. The attached presentation includes useful information to illustrate this fact and highlight how Allegiant is unique.

If their "unique" model is so much better than legacy airlines then great, they should pay their employees more!

What kind of flight/overnight bags are you guys flying with? Obviously you usually don't overnight but I'm sure there is that eventual unforseen circumstance. Curious what people on the line are bringing to the airport with them day in and day out.
