No really typical schedule, it changes greatly from base to base reserve or not. Typical week fly days are Tuesday, Wednesday, and Saturdays, so those are most likely days off. Reserve will only have 11 off and if you are lucky you will get two days off in a row each week.

It really is random luck to get a run of three days off or four days off in a row and only really will happen on week flying months. Which are Feb. Sept. Oct. and in some bases April, May are weaker. OH and weaker months only happen if we have proper staffing levels.

I personally have not had a typical or same schedule since the company started using Merlot software/with Visual basics. To build our schedules.

We have been joined by many "I just want to do my job and not ruffle feathers" people because there is no discrimination against who stares down the barrel of management's gun. Nobody is asking you to volunteer for a union position (it would be nice though), but to bury one's head in the sand will only make things worse for everyone. I apologize if this wasn't the intent of your question.

^^^This is the impression I got from reading that post. To the OP: If this is the case, you're doing our airline a disservice by showing up with this attitude. Please stay home.

As CLMP stated, if this was not what you meant, my apologies.

Also, please read the Allegiant threads before making your decision. They are not exaggerated and answer the questions you have asked.

And to add on to this: you want to know what having seniority gets you around here?? Mixed lines. That's right - you're finally senior, but you still get to sit RSV a handful of times a month, just because. Pretty sweet, huh?

We don’t have a regular schedule to show you. You will get 10 to 11 days off, un-commutable. This new fake PBS software, “Merlot” has given crew services carte blanche, detrimental for us of course. So they, crew services not the so-called Merlot program makes our schedules. It can be whatever they wish it to be.

And get this, you owe the company your days off for all training events for days worked. So, take away 2 to 4 days for your training, and write the company a check. In addition to all the CBT this company demands for free. So, 10 to 11 days off is not your minimum, you essentially have no minimum. And welcome to Allegiant.

Thanks! I'm sure majority of the people at Allegiant are great people who like everywhere else want things better.
CLMP may have left out a few things, such as ASAP reports, letters to management responding to inquiries, letters to scheduling asking why you got hosed, again, spending days ripping your hair out building your preferential bids, only to be discarded by a spreadsheet operator, getting reimbursed by payroll for expenses, getting payroll to correct your monthly short-changed pay check, dealing with inexperienced dispatchers, trainers, schedulers, rampers, interacting with an archaic IT department, etc. I'm sure I'm missing a few, but its safe to say, no, you won't leave work at work.

Also mentioned by CLMP, we need help from pilots. We are a small pilot group so there is a lot of work and not many of us to do it. As a minimum, you should be involved and informed of what's going on with those fighting for your future. If you aim to come here and stick your head in the sand, waiting for someone else to fight your battles, go to a place like Delta or United--they have that luxury. We don't.

Positives? There are many positives in getting seniority at a new company, but it takes effort and commitment if we are to become a place you and others would like to stay. Think about what this place would be if everyone wanted to just 'leave work at work"? Management would love it, but I can guarantee you wouldn't. Many pilots dont understand the pay we get as professionals isn't because management wanted to give it to us. Pilots before us fought for this and Allegiant management is trying to take it all away. If they hire enough guys like you, they might succeed.

To answer your question, I would recommend you wait for another offer. No offense, but we need people willing to fight the fight and walk the picket lines with the rest of us. This industry is watching very closely to see if we will give in to managements "different DNA". We all "want things better" but it would be naive to imagine getting there if we all wanted to be "left out of the issues when leaving the plane".

My guess is optimistic for our new hires. I’m sure you and the rest of the new hires will picket when the time comes. The level, depth and speed of information these days will mimic what happened when those two limp d!#k$ that crossed spirits line.

If you come to Allegiant I'm sure you've read all these threads and know the score.

Like anything else in life you get what you put into it. If you try your best and help toe the line to make this a better place then you'll fit in nicely and be appreciated. If you just do the minimum and ignore all the union emails then you will have a hard time here.

I hope that answers your question. You are coming to an airline on the brink of a strike. You simply don't have the luxury of ignoring that.

I will give you a positive. I am positively sure you are entering a war zone. There will be nowhere to hide and no way to ignore it. If we win, this place has great potential. If everyone goes home and just wants to be, "left out of the issues...", we will suffer severe long term misery.

What is the logic behind not having consecutive days off? Is it due to legality conflicts if you fly a block of days in a row or just the company's way of making the schedules?

It has a lot to do with that we as a company fly very little if any flying on Tue, Wed, Sat. at least out west. Then on Sunday, Monday, Thursday, and Friday on many weeks and months at least with current staffing 100% of pilots in base have to work to cover all the trips and have reserve.

So take something like getting weekends off. Unless you are bidding in the top one or two in your base you have no chance.
