Where do I send my resume.... that will be the question within the next few posts. Unfortunately the RJ pilots have been so beat down by this industry that they think anything with more seats must be a better QOL/$$$/security. Problem is going to Allegiant may just end up a very bitter dead end for some.
I hope they negotiate a contract that triples pay and returns home every night scheduling in the base of your choice, but history does not suggest that that reality is going to materialize soon, if ever, if they are able to run the company with a steady flow of "new blood" pilots who are just happy to be there.
Best, Luv

Anybody have the details on this? Was it recurrent, upgrade, or initial? Confirm MD-80? Is the bus training any better? Was it an oral or a sim bust? What kind of things are the guys busting for? Fars, company policy, procedures, systems? Did these busts all happen in Vegas? It was 3 busts out of a class of what size? Thanks.

From what has been written here, looks like new hire’s have been taking it in the shorts lately. But, we did have three or two captains I think go unsat on a recurrent this year. The vegas poi sat in on that. Everything changed about two years ago when the old poi retired. G4 had a sweet heart deal with him. As the operations have now become glaringly, eerily reminiscent to our almost stepsister company ValueJet. Everyone who understands our pedigree is getting nervous, that includes the fed’s.
Our moc and constant air returns is becoming untenable. They already shut our entire training department down for a period of time last winter. What does that tell you? So, if you’re feeling lucky and are in the position and mood for constant irritation and abuse. Then go for it. Expect any airplane you get, to be a nightmare process with the fed’s giving you the glove treatment.

I find it hard to believe that Allegiant has cut down on the 80 hours of systems class for new hires generally required by Part 121.400 series. How do you cram 80 hours of classroom into less than a week? And if they are, how is the FAA letting them get away with it?
The world wonders.

So what is the deal with Allegiant not paying for you to go out for training and not paying for housing while in training? what are people doing? crash pads or something

They're old school 1995 where you paid your own hotel during training and mom and dad paid for everything else.

If new hires are going straight into the 757/AB, does that mean that they miss out on their sweet 3 month upgrade?

I just read through the last few pages of this thread and it should be pointed out that the check ride bust information isn't fully accurate. I won't get into any specifics on here due to the sensitivity issues involved. I'm not disputing the other stuff in this thread, just that.
