You're asking a lot of questions that have been addressed in the thread. You really need to take 10 minutes and skim through it. But, basically we don’t have schedules. We have assignments issued monthly. And they are all pretty much the same. Saturday and Tuesday off. We bid via a pbs, but it’s a sham. The company plugs you in however they want, and it is never to your request or benefit.
You can't drop, and you can't switch, swap or whatever. PTO is a joke; Disapproved always. I understand your regional plight. But, it is most likely the quality of life you have now, is better than here.

The decision made to move someone into the AB appears to be completely arbitrary and no one knows the rationale. They have also, as of today, changed training pay to min guarantee for everyone in the pipeline, per the chief pilot.

Normally all classes have been for the 80. Although 3 from last Augusts class got Airbus about a week in because no other FOs bid it. I have heard the next class will be both Airbus and 80. Rumor is they don't want double training costs so they may not let current FOs transition. If that's true, it's just one more example on a long list of many why we need a contract.
Training is in Las Vegas. Although some get sent to MIA for sim and I believe the bulk of the Bus training is also in MIA. For IOE you can be sent to whatever base has a check airman available.

We will most certainly get a "thank you" buried in an email that describes our massive profits, crew productivity, plans for the future of engine reliability, and core values. If we really play our cards right, we might even get a, "build your own ornament for the corporate Christmas tree" kit sent to our bases in December so we can help decorate the corporate Christmas tree. I know I can't wait.

One training event instead of two training events by doing this. It saves money and training/sim time. The shareholders will get an extra 50 cents a share and a little extra in the Christmas dividend payment.

Consider this to be NOT a commutable job. You have travel benefits, but considering your schedule... Basically, moving to Florida is pretty much your option, after a few years you can probably hold a line on the West Coast.
The union has officially put out that it highly frowns upon picking up OT (the company calls it "mission mode,") not til we get a contact

And for those new hires that got airbus; you would be wise to consider Spirit or the like. Spirit is now working on their second contract. They probably wont strike for the gains that will be had on top of their current contract. We will.
