No, in fact CFR told them to not evac.....twice. Look, he got fired, there was cause to fire him because of his actions. He made the wrong choices along the way and it was all based on a quick upgrade flying with a brand new FO. Sucks to see a guy get fired even the ones who shouldn't be here. In PIE we all have the same "no fly list". There are even a few senior guys who are on borrowed time.
No one is perfect and mistakes are made. We should support our fellow pilots and shouldn't come on a message board typing out of our a@@'s. You never know who's next... Could be you.

Shiek: If this had happened at a legacy the captain would have had a debrief but, since he had erred on the side of safety, there would be no disciplinary action. I don't know what's more reprehensible, the fact that Allegiant fired this captain or the fact that one of his colleagues is defending it.
I guess it's every man for himself there.

We had an evac go terribly wrong a year or two ago. From what I've heard (I'm sure the same people who the Shiek talks to), the engines were still running when the evacuation command was given. Those guys weren't fired...No one was hurt and it was safety driven, even if they did F a few things up. Clearly this was for the benefit of the union.

God forbid you were faced with an emergency and when called to answer for yourself stated, "but CFR told me not to!", or "I ignored the flight attendants because they're all known, paranoid people who intentionally try to get out of working that day!"
So see? I just saved your job. You're welcome.
By the way, from my discussions with him, and in reading about his ordeal, the reason he and the FO turned off on the taxiway was so they could taxi back to the gate. The evacuation order came only after the CFR team said there was smoke coming from the airplane, then went MIA and never answered another radio call.
So, please do us all a favor: try not to be so critical of your bros when you clearly don't know what you're talking about.
And with the number of guys that seem to have made your list as jerks, trolls and incompetent pilots that you've deemed still lucky enough to be here, I have no doubt that you'll be settling the score once you make management- that's how they like it here.

It's actually not every man for himself here. 99% of the pilot group stands up for one another and are outraged by this termination. The Sheik is just trying to make a name for himself. He's a mid level Airbus Captain in PIE with management aspirations.

You guys are angry, unprofessional and always try to personally take people down. Thanks for trying to "out me" and try to embarrass me.

You guys rpdont realize that all the negativity you bring here on this message board makes you look irrational, full of **** and vinegar and everyone sees right thru it.

Even the Lake Charles guys had a story, are we supposed to blindly support him? Not his fault that he got a flat tire at V1......or did he drive off the end of the runway before he rotated?
The fact is that it was a perfectly good airplane and he screwed up.
No amount of ranting on here or gofundme campaigns will help.

Your facts (that you've heard from other people and MX) are not correct, so stop spreading them like you have first hand knowledge.
No one is perfect and mistakes are made. We should support our fellow pilots and shouldn't come on a message board typing out of our a@@'s. You never know who's next... Could be you.

If anyone has any aspirations of interviewing at Allegiant and are second guessing themselves it's because we have a few guys on here that are so mad at life that they can't see straight. Who would want to fly with you types anyway? luckily you are a small MINORITY and you'll always be that way.
One of our "mid seniority" airbus captains is yelling and angry every day, dropping the F-bomb at flight attendants AND other pilots in front of the pax. (probably this is you). You have the nerve to accuse me of not being unified? I've gotten earfuls from EVERY FO I fly with of how D.P. yelled at them, is an angry jerk or they flew with you right off IOE and felt like quitting right then.
If this is really D.P. then I'm wasting my time. A decade is a long time to carry hatred and anger brother, clam down.
