Only in aviation. Best of luck to all involved.
And all of the #1s were #2s at one point.
Live and learn I guess?

Ain't that the truth--it's the entire history of the regionals!

"Oh, I wanted wings, 'till I got the God damned things. Now, i don't want them anymore"

Is that it?

Convince the CP you wont leave for AA. You'd rather sell davenports.

In any case.... Any rumors of a320 in Vegas? If they plan on replacing 80s with airbus, I'd imagine it's bound to happen at some point.

Do you think Bingo-Baden will address all of these mx issues in the next fish wrap or coffee corner? He told me he's all about transparency and openness. Another control surface issue in the infamous tail section, now being investigated by the NTSB. Good job on the crew for aborting the takeoff last night in Vegas. They should be commended. But that wont be the reaction of management. Put the blame on the crew whenever possible.

I agree but I don't have any specific information, my take on it is the Airbus will eventually take the place of MD in all aspects of operations. The MD are becoming more and more unreliable, increasingly costly to patch up/repair. With each canceled flight AAY is losing customers plus wasting flight crew allocation. And the MD adventures are starting to get the attention of the FAA, national media and watchdog groups. All of that is encouragement to park the MD and fly the AB, which are not new but a lot newer than the MD.

Looks to me like the plan is to switch over to Airbus aircraft as they become available for reasonable cost, similar to how management started with all the low cost used MD aircraft way back when. It's just a matter of time.

LAS will be the very very last base to switch.

Because when you fly into challenging airports with terrain and searing temperatures, you want the least capable aircraft possible. Actually, I think it's due to the amount of block hours that each plane flies per day. LAS is more cyclical per week than the other bases.

http://www.bizjournals.com/chicago/news/2015/08/18/republic-airways-puts-it-all-on-table-at-big-labor.html

This should be interesting: 8 years of screwing around and now Republic wants a deal. Must be their stock plummeting to less than a quarter of its value in a year BECAUSE OF PILOT SHORTAGES. Best of luck to the Republic guys and my former colleagues at Allegiant.
