I would suggest you actually know the people who have, in some cases, earned an instructor job. Intimating that someone has crossed some line or sold their soul to work harder than you and enjoying less time with their own families, while trying to make sure our pilot group is well trained, is beyond pathetic.
You have shown by your posts exactly what kind of person you are. Call it what you will, but you did whatever it took to become an instructor as a new hire FO with no time in the plane. And you are on this board towing the company line and bashing people that don't in the midst of a 98% strike vote.
I guess you can put lipstick on a pig, but it's still a PIG.

Guys, let's try to keep it civil. Remember, infighting is management's wet dream. Let's channel this anger where it belongs, at 1201 N Town Center.

I've been on line since the Fall, I don't know when I'll upgrade since they just cancelled the last class. To be honest I'm not in a rush though, Id be in the homeless base for quite awhile, but in theory I could probably upgrade before the year is out.
Believe or not, we still have a 6" stack of resumes, with World and Evergreen gone there's still some high time guys out there, many of whom live Florida. I suspect they will run through these guys and be down to mostly regional FOs and a few CAs by the end of the year.
All that said, I'm not overly bitter and the company hasn't hosed me real bad yet. But the potential is there and it scares the crap out of me, this airline has taught me that QOL is equally as important as pay.
You're a corporate G550 CA? Sounds like a better gig than an MD80 FO to me!

I was taken off my trip for IOE training. The email states if I like, I can get an extra 3.5 ABG for sitting a reserve footprint.
Does this mean if I was originally scheduled for 80 hours, I'm now getting 83.5 hours?

News to me. Historically you would have to sit reserve in order to get pay protected for your original trip. I've never heard of getting an additional 3.5 for sitting reserve. However, it wouldn't surprise me if this was offered sporadically and at the whim of the company, hence the dire need for a new contract.

It's 3.5 extra to sit the 10 hour TOA. This is different from the trip footprint. Up to you but as a reminder this is not in the work rules.
