I hope our pilot group is prepared for a much tougher battle....you may be right but I see a long 30+ day strike....how much does it cost Allegiant to shut the airline down - they do it every Tues. & Sat. Of course there's lost revenue but still.....I think they wait 'till medical insurance expires and the $0 paychecks start showing up and see if we crack. Just sayin' be prepared; hope I'm wrong.

Pilots have options, more every day. Most are too proud to allow the mockery to continue and would rather see it shut down permanently than play in to the hands of those short-sighted corporate hacks looking to destroy our way of life. I have a family with young children, don't think I'm not aware of the stakes, but the cost of kneeling is simply way too high. Some things in life are worth fighting for. Im in for the long fight. Whatever it takes.
See you on the picket line.

These numbers tell you what to expect. With the exception of Comair, which was a wholly owned subsidiary of DAL. Not one of these airlines was able to take it more than 30 days. Pilots have consistently showed more resolve than airline management. A release will drastically tip the balance of power. That’s why our management denies it will ever be granted. It’s wishful thinking on their part.
Spirit lasted single digits. That’s the most recent and similar airline. And in 2010 the legacies weren’t hiring. Oil was sky high and the economy was in the dirt. I still expect the standard tough talk and threats. History has proven they are the ones who can’t take it.

Hi guys, I sent my stuff in some months ago, and have yet to hear back. I am a 8,000 hour corporate guy (most all jet time). Anyone know what it takes to get an interview? I am wanting to make the switch to the 121 world. Allegiant seems like it would be a good fit for me.
I would suggest reading past posts on Allegiant Air and it should paint a clear picture of the operation.
ATP protection / Solid airline training / New Aircraft / Strong Maintenance / Good working environment
Sky West, Virgin America, Alaska, Spirit, Frontier, American, Delta, United but not Allegiant Air.

I've heard just this week that they are, now, looking for 121 experience for new hires. Of all airlines to make the switch from corporate to 121 flying Allegiant would be dead last on my list. It really is not a good fit in my opinion. A good fit is a regional (Turboprop or RJ) with 121 ops experience - Right seat only is fine. That is a good fit for this operation at G4.

^^^That's not going to change when you come here...it'll just be domestic instead of international...but you will still be well-acquainted with your suitcase.
PLEASE. Everyone looking to come here for some insane reason: READ all the Allegiant threads!!
I came from a sh$@ty regional, and my QOL of life is WORSE here.

Good luck with your search. Lost of choices these days. I hear VA pilots are getting quite the pay raise starting April 1. Sigh..

Xbone, your doomsday clock is running slow. It's now 3 minutes to Midnight!

But I have a feeling your avatar makes more of a 'local' statement anyway.
Get it done fellas.
