It's enlightening that in the last few decades many businesses haven't been focused on making a better widget, only a cheaper one, and they do it by outsourcing, foreign labor sources, and squeezing labor for all it's worth. It's like the way dollar stores are putting the hurt on Walmart the way Walmart had put the hurt on sears etc.
In the past airlines like ALG would be snuffed out during the next oil spike as you can only wring so many dollars out of recycled aircraft, questionable mx, "cheap" labor and an unsupported operation.
But if ALG doesn't change their ways, eventually their labor will finally get fed up on such substandard treatment and they will suffer a labor shortage.
The only thing that has kept the regional companies from imploding is that they all treat their pilots in a crappy manor, the difference at ALG is that their pilots will have a choice to stay or leave.
Best of luck.

Alert to G4 pilots: The Ops Specs have been removed from the aircraft / GOM. Not a peep from MGMT. End alert.

I've heard now from multiple captains Ive flown with that the management pilots feel we are very far away from striking. What would MG have to do in order to drag the negotiations out a few years more?

Strike vote soon. How long has anyone ever waited after a strike vote that is overwhelming in a yes vote?
The issue with the management pilots is that they are all encased in the palace and never fly the line. When they do fly the line they fly with each other. They tell each other what they want to hear.

Actually it could be great for everyone if they would only stop the nonsense.

For example Republic voted 99.25% to strike with 98.86% of eligible voters actually voting. Quick math shows that, of the pilots that voted, only 4 pilots voted to not strike. This was in November of 2011.
Moral of the story: There will be no strike. The National Mediation Board prides themselves on the number if strikes they prevent.

Spirit was able to strike.
I think anyone would be hard pressed to say we are critical to the infrastructure. The company's own mantra of not being an airline, but a travel company may come back to haunt them.
And since our market is solely the leisure traveler, who departs out of obscure airports, the NMB may move faster than you think.
