Everyone was professional there and very welcoming, HOWEVER, I was never winked at, promised the sky, or anything else. I know a "High Up" as he was my first officer on a 747 a few years ago and was praised by those that worked for him at their previous company (glad I listened to the advice "Never be a jerk to your FO...he/she may be your boss someday), also had a letter from a very senior Allegiant Capt. The idea of chasing down a major airline job for me is about last on my list of things to do, so I probably won't be starting over again in 5 years. I'm not in my 30's with thousands of hours of glass, no CFI, no 4 year degree (yet). I've heard for YEARS speculation of that "Land of Milk and Honey Pilot Shortage just around the corner" and sacrificed a lot for the "Love of flying." I just want to work someplace that isn't paying late, doesn't short my 401k, and doesn't send me to a war torn country on a 18 to 20 hour duty day...or longer (there's no limit to your duty day international). As for Union mention...none initiated by the company, but I did ask and got what seems a pretty honest answer. I hope to just come to work, get along well with people, learn a new airplane, find a safe place for me and my family to live, not worry if I'm going to get paid, and have a lot more time with my family. I get your point when you ask why would someone come here to make $41/hour. After being at my last employer for a long time, I asked people why they want to work for an ACMI spending countless days in hotels on the other side of the planet, fly planes older than them with cargo that can leave a HUGE crater, go into and around countries that hate us... for what that company paid. I guess you never know those answers until you're in their situation. I hope you all will be welcoming to us new-hires and help us learn. Again, this will be something entirely new for me.
I moved my family from California to Florida after commuting on reserve for 3 months and it was the best decision that I could have ever made. I see my wife and son pretty much every day and sleep in my own bed. Home reserve with 1.5 hour callout. My wife, son, and I will go shopping or to the park and I just keep the uniform in the car.

Been on the MD80 for 6 months and really love the bird and now going to the Airbus here in a few weeks.

I know there is currently a class in training at Allegiant. Any word on additional class dates in the near future?

Application window is open again. It says F.O. position Las Vegas, but I'm guessing new hires can expect a Florida base.

Thanks Ultralight!!!!

Just updated app.

Man I wish there was a way to get rid of those "old" up-loaded resumes. Anyone else having this problem?

Word is 40 new hires, expect sunny Florida as your base. Just had a Airbus bid it went so junior that a few guys in class for the MD got JR assigned to the Bus half way through GS.

And getting typed to boot. Nothing like giving newhires their ticket to leave in 8 months.

They're already having enough trouble filling classes as it is. Here's hoping that fact makes it far enough up the chain to make them realize why.

Heard the official hire number is 20. 40 may happen eventually but right now it's only 20. All Florida. Mostly to cover attrition. I suggest all potential applicants read all the posts available on Allegiant before making a decision.

10 days off a month on reserve with zero work rules consisting entirely of Tuesdays and Saturdays off wears a little thin after a couple of years.

I can’t imagine what the upgrade could be for a new hire. That number is not calculable.
