To answer the original question....

Yes Allegiant is better than a regional.

Be ready for a serious pay hit though. First year pay will be reserve at 70 hour guarantee with little to no per diem pay due to lack of overnights. Your paycheck will round out around $2100/mo after taxes. However, once that is over the pay rounds up nicely.

The work rules are worse off than what you will be used to at a decent regional, but the out and back flying and autothrottles will even that out a bit.

So that explains Allegiant's unusually high number of engine fires!

Glad you found a successful road. What a rough ride at Comair. Congrats.

Here's a direct quote from an Allegiant mechanic: "Our goal is to have at least one good engine on every airplane."

And your airline doesn't have that goal?

Thanks. I'm not really an anti union person, I just get sick and tired of hearing from the mind numb robots who think unions are the end all be all. They are good in some instances and bad in others. There all also good unions and bad unions.

I'm pretty sure we have no more (or less) engine failures per whatever number you want to use than any other carrier flying with -219 engines.

What's your real issue with Allegiant, Fish? This is an anonymous forum, so be honest with us for a change.

He probably doesn't know that he can reapply after 6 months.

If you don't know the answer to that from reading this forum, you REALLY need to get a refund on your college tuition.
