Yeah, I've heard everything from taxes to parking is a lot higher at YVR. BLI will have to raise fees some, because of the $30million terminal expansion. The fees however will still be a fraction of those at YVR.
Do you see Alaska adding any other flights? Are they happy with the loads? Our flight had some open seats, but I was told it was because we were weight restricted.

Westjet did the same bro.They blocked off seats on all their Hawaii segments. Geez wonder why North American is operating 75's for them. Ya that's right the 75 is the right bird for BLI-HNL. Just a matter of time my friend. You one of those guys at home changing diapers who hasn't flown in 2 years? Ahh that explains all you're posts..

Discredit all you want... The company makes money and we make a decent salary. If you didn't fear us, you wouldn't attack us.

Not attacking, just asking for perspective, what is a "decent salary" for an MD-80 captain at a profitable company. It's an anonymous board, W2's are out, what did Chperplt make as a CAPT of an MD-80 for a consistently profitable company? I really have no idea of your answer, just asking for perspective, as a few legacies contracts will be coming up in the next few years and they fly MD80's, albeit not for as profitable of a company as Allegiant, but at least they would have something to shoot for, in the future of course.
Really, just asking for perspective, I really do not know much about Allegiant.

Most of my friends who got on 4 to 5 years ago (When the pay wasn't good) are now making, I believe, around 140K a year.
The company is somehow able to stay profitable with MD80s that are, on average, 20 years old. This is probably due to the fact that they buy their aircraft instead of leasing them. Additionally, they tend to focus on markets where there is little to no competition. I'm not a finance major, but I believe these are just a couple of reasons for the 32 consecutive quarterly profits. I have also heard that the company really can't justify moving to a new fleet type until oil hits approximately $150/$155 a barrel.
If this is still the case today given any increased costs (new pilot contract/expansion/etc.), then I think that's the silver lining of working at ALGT. They seem to be well insulated from high oil costs, which is not true for the rest of the carriers in this country.

And you won't see the islands for 3 years, minimum. Unless you buy a ticket to go there on vacation.

LOL.. No I'm going to jumpseat on you guys. As long as you don't block off every middle seat due to weight restrictions out of BLI.

[QUOTE=The Duke;948711]I have heard that a 7 year captain @ G4 made 225K last year.
Most of my friends who got on 4 to 5 years ago (When the pay wasn't good) are now making, I believe, around 140K a year.

I looked at the new pay scale and am curious about that 7 year pilot making $225,000.00. Is that pretty normal over there? From what I could see a 7 year guy makes $141/hr on tier 3, with a 70 hour guarantee. 70 X 141 X 12 = $118,440.00. Is there that much overtime to allow guys to make almost double their guarantee?
