Thanks for the quick response Charlie! Being a PHX local, getting LAS for a year or so would not be half bad. Do any trips in LAS have potential to be commutable to a place like PHX or would it be gone from start of the duty week until the end?

I joined Allegiant (G4) back in October after nearly 8 years at Mesa on the Dash 8. I live in Mesa, Arizona and I'm currently based in LAS on reserve. It's very commutable and a number of people based in LAS currently are commuters out of PHX. The commute is not bad at all. Getting into Vegas late week and out on a Sunday can sometimes be tricky, but it's not too bad. Lots of frequency between LAS and PHX on Airways and Southwest.

Once on reserve in LAS and consolidated, the schedules aren't too bad. Most of the reserve lines have R25s surrounding your days off. If you're not contacted by noon on your day off prior to an R25, there's a good chance you'll get the next day off. So your 2 days off can quickly increse from 2 to 3-5 days off back at home, assuming they don't convert your R25 to an R12 (Noon-Midnight reserve).

Company is doing very well still with 32 consecutive quarterly profits. Not bad considering the last 8 years have probably been the worst in the history of the industry. The company is still growing and they're bringing on some very competent managers from Delta/Northwest, Priceline, and American Express and the likes. They are behind on the 757 program, but these things happen at all airlines. As someone mentioned before, the 757s will be used domestically at first, followed by ETOPS certification at a later date for Hawaii.

All in all, I'm very happy here. It is not perfect and there are the expected growing pains/organizational issues, but they have a sound business model that generates good profits and keeps the stock price at a very respectable $50/share. By far the best airline gig I've had so far and I'm confident in the company's leadership.

Hope this helps.

The other thing to keep in mind as a short-distance commuter to places like PHX is that if it's at all possible the schedulers are good about releasing you. So on your last day you can often head home several hours early.

Hey guys, I was in KVQQ (old Navy Jax) yesterday picking up one of our 73s from a Mx Depot and one of your 757s was sitting just outside the hangar door. It did not have titles on it, but the paint scheme was similar to the MD80 that they had in the hangar right in front of it but the hues were different but the Star design was there and it definitely was one of yours. Sorry I couldn't tell you more, it was raining like hell, we were running almost 2 hours late and we had a minor mx issue with the plane we were taking out.

Yeah, that's the great thing about AGT 757s. They're sitting UNUSED all over the world. LOL!

4 or 5 departures a day... 90% +/- LF. I think it's doing very well.

And our BLI - Hawaii will be doing well for at least 2 years before you ever see your first ETOPS flight...IF you get those 757s, that is.

That's quite alright there Fish. You guys get that BLI-HNL segment up and running for us. Would love to see the look on your face when we start BLI-ANC. It will happen my friend!
