I think they get a heck of a deal purchasing them and it helps that most MD80 operators want to get rid of them. I am fairly sure that Allegiant has a contract with American to do all their heavy work in Tulsa.

Who cares if they are used - they are new to Allegiant and will require Allegiant pilots to fly them. Besides that, "pre-owned" is the preferred euphemism these days.
