Also, how can the FO pay scale not go up much and how can everyone upgrade to Captain that fast? It just seems like most of the people would be captains at that rate unless they were having a bunch of captains leaving. I'm sure there is something in this I don't see or understand.

If it were hard to commute to the only place you could upgrade to can you stay a FO at RNO? Just curious.

Captain upgrades have been quick because we have been acquiring airplanes for the last few years. They will slow if the company slows or stops buying airplanes. Not very many people have been leaving recently. If that happens, I'd bet that the low first officer pay will become a problem for a lot of guys.

Yeah, I can understand that as a young company they can't afford to pay as much as other people, but I think you are right that if they stabilize some, but are financially healthy folks won't enjoy maying the virtually the same money as their time grows.
I just need to get my ATP certificate and I will be sending in my resume. Their website says 3000 hours, but that the chief pilot can waive that if he thinks the pilot's experience qualifies him. I only have 1700 hours, but it is all jet, and virtually all multi-engine and PIC. If they don't waive it for me, then on to the next backup plan, but I wouldn't mind giving it a try.

There's a rumor floating around about a class soon, but the director of hiring said not until late summer. I'm guessing that the rumor I heard is false. Sanford would probably be one of the easiest bases to get for FO's and CA's.

They're going to evaluate hiring in June. The boss man doesn't want to spend the money on new hires until he's positive we need them. When half the Vegas base times out after the 3rd week of June, he'll figure it out.
Right now there's a wait list on the FO side for both Vegas and SFB.
Things change daily, so stand by and continue sending in those resumes.
