Curious what you guys think the Boeing struggles will do to hiring thru September. Correct me if I'm wrong, but the company is hiring for growth and not really to backfill retirements, right? Do you guys expect fewer new hires in the next months? Asking as a new hire with an April class date.

Thanks!

They also have stated they need to increase the 320 utilization, that is where all the new hires and upgrades are presently headed.

Allegiant needs about 400 more pilots to push the AB daily average from just over 6 hours a day to just over 8 like it was pre2020. They has said they plane to park i think up to seven AB and only getting up to 12 Max this year.

The company just updated us today saying that they have scheduled classes through the end of the year. The classes have been running every 3 weeks lately ranging from 20-30 per class so that could be about 300+ new hires for April-Dec. Retirements and attrition have been relatively low since the bonus was announced so hiring is mostly for growth.

Hi, wondering I'd you have any info re hiring at Allegiant ?
I was hired in Feb2024 and given a class date for my ATP CTP in April, which was deferred a few weeks later.I haven't heard anything since. I have updated my resume since with my completed ATP and Honda jet type rating. I have emailed HR and was told all classes have been filled. Any ideas as to what/who else I can contact ? TIA.

Allegiant has throttled back a bit on hiring due to the Boeing debacle. If they have you on "hold" I would imagine you should hear something shortly. We just were notified the first Max is finally showing up September 5th.

I was in one of the first transition courses for the stupid thing. A lot of us have been more or less enjoying a paid vacation at 70% of what the industry is paying 73 drivers.

Just curious how it will work. When you only have one or 2 new 737s and all out station basing - if one airplane goes down on MX - how would you recover from that ? Are all 737 pilots just LAS based right now ?

They will be based in SFB initially, not outstationed.

Nothing would prevent a recrew/tailswap onto a 320 if needed... same way every other airline does things...
