it helps when you have the dumbest pilot group in the world.

I agree completely with the setiment here. I've been telling people this exact thing. Hard to believe a company would willingly cut down on their bottom line when they have absolutely no insentive to do so. Especially with the other ULCCs essentially closing their doors.

I don't quite understand why people think this. You think the company cares if it's unionized pilots like AR or not? I equally always find odd when union leadership cries about us wearing their lanyard to show "support" as if our membership and dues aren't doing exactly that. I have a hard time believing if we all showed up decked out in "I <3 AR and the Teamsters" jersey's that the company would all of a sudden start shaking in their boots haha.

They care only about getting the cheapest contract that will pass. The first assumption of the company is that what is said by reps are their opinions not the overall opinions of the entire pilot group. When anything comes out like low voter turnout or split outcome. They will use that as something to point to as backing their claim that they the representatives are not reflecting the majority of the pilot's stance.

Who cares what they assume or what they claim? It doesn't matter if they think they are negotiating with/against someone who has the backing of the majority of the pilot group or not. I don't see the proceess or the end result changing no matter what they think of the person sitting across the table (outside of them just hating the individual personally. I could see how that would hamper negotiations).

Now from the Union's perspective, it would (hopefully) make a difference if the Union representative thought that they had the backing of the majority or not. But I think that is better judged through survey's and discussions on the facebook group rather than crying about a damn lanyard lol.

I’ll say it again, 50% is record turnout for a local election.

Well you are AR's biggest champion, so I'm sure you'll find positive spin in anything said on here.

Perhaps the union should use dues to pay that FO to have some new luggage tags printed - That guy would make a fortune.

Im just trying to be factual about it and not let my feelings rule me. Clearly you are upset about the election results, but I’m not being untruthful.

Casual observer/alumni here wondering what your reward for such extreme loyalty to The Big Guy is gonna be? Lifetime appointment to the G4PAF? Kenny's spot on the NC? Trustee? Jimmy Hoffa's fluffer?

What a sham of an election. They stopped informing members of their ballot status (i.e. Not Received). Guess those numbers were growing too quickly. I can't imagine that, all things considered, this election goes unchallenged. Any word on a revote...not over a holiday & with the full return zipcode included on the envelope?
