We are not going to get Jack Squat! You will be able to afford to live in a Van down by the river!

It’s hard to know for sure but I think there will be a TA later this year. Yes on the rates. No not upset considering the rest of the industry has taken 3-4 years so the timing has been expected. We’re at 2.5 years from expiration. The retention bonus plus hopefully some retro will at least make part of the wait whole.

I'm not familair with much of the terminology or slang used in these posts, so it's a little difficult to know whats going on with Allegiant. I am still in school at a partner university working on my CSEL but I have been thinking about joing Allegiants cadet program. Could anyone offer me any insight on whether this is a good route to take or if I'm better off going to the regionals to begin with. I know there are many different factors to look at when picking potential companies to work for but I am a bit confused as to why the first year pay is relatively low compared to some of the regionals I've debated applying to be a cadet with.
I appreciate any help and knowledge shared, thanks!

Lol never heard of it. I suppose its possible some of the flight schools pay Allegiant to be able to use their name as part of the draw to join that flight school, but I highly doubt Allegiant is an active partner in any way with the school. In return you probably get a guaranteed interview.
If you think you see yourself flying wide body international in the next 10 years, go to a regional with a flow through to a legacy carrier. If you see yourself flying out and backs to the same 20 places on the same airplane and being home everyday for the rest of your career, apply at Allegiant.

I assume you're asking about the altitude pilot pathway, which is $50k of student debt paid in return for a 3 year commitment. If this airline is your end goal then it's a great deal, if not 3 years is a long time. Pay is low here since we're the last airline working on an old expired contract that was negotiated back in 2016, everyone else recieved big raises including the regionals. The pay here will change drastically but the big question is when. The main draw is the 1 day trips and there are over 20 different bases with most not being in the larger expensive cities.

Spirit to Allegiant??
Anyone make the move from Spirit to Allegiant? Really happy here at Spirit but for obvious reasons, looking at elsewhere and I have always been interested in Allegiant (live near base) but always turned off by the first year pay. Am I crazy to think about it?
