Right about now would be a wonderful time to hear a little bit of an update from AR, something that actually fills us in as to whether or not we should be asking Santa for an interview elsewhere or not. But not an update with empty answers and a lack of solid information. This is make or break time for all of us. If we have nothing by New Years, expect this place to have attrition worse than the regionals, lots and lots of reserve assignments to ferry down to the desert, and a shrinking list of tails in the QRH.

Well it's been touched on a few times since you said this, but I'll throw in my 2 cents. We all got that holiday teamster's magazine. Anybody see any mention of airlines? Nope, just some clowns at amazon, baristas and UPS drivers. IBT is not the union you want representing you in our industry. All that chest bumping sh*t may work with these $15 an hour blue collar workers, but it doesn't work here. ALPA has numerous flaws, but at least their war chest can pay for people that have the knowledge to at least know the difference between Boeing and Airbus.
I'm truly worried that we've got two ego maniacs negotiating against each-other, not for their respective groups. AR is more focused on looking pretty in his infomercials (which lack any significant information) than he is getting us a solid contract. "A" for effort, "F" for execution. MG is MG, there needs to be zero explanation there. I really really hope our assessment isn't just buying steak dinners for the d*ck measuring contest between those two, but every passing day I lose a little more faith.

1. ALPA wouldn't help us in this negotiation. At least not until MG gets it through his thick skull what items are required to keep and attract pilots in today's environment (noting that it got more expensive today with JBs AIP). After this CBA, let's come back and have a discussion on the next course of action. For now, truckers are the hand we have been dealt and that's the hand we have to play. *****ing about it doesn't change the facts and isn't useful.
2. I threw that garbage in the trash without reading it.
3. I don't think any of the assessment money has been spent as of yet. So you can rest a little easier at night.
4. I completely agree. More substantive information would be great, but to be honest, ARs last video pretty much said we weren't making any progress. Not sure what you want him to say. He can't outright say "drop your apps, we aren't getting anywhere." That could be construed as a work action or not negotiating in good faith. Read between the lines: Alaska = New Deal which is much better than what they have offered, UAL/AA = voted down offers that were SIGNIFICANTLY better than what they offered, Spirit = AIP essentially equal to Alaska, JB = AIP significantly better than Alaska, DAL = AIP that leads them all (overall). The fact that we don't have a legitimate offer on the table yet should speak volumes to anyone here.
5. Scheduled negotiations Today, Tomorrow, and three days next week. If we don't hear from the union that there is an AIP by next Thursday, I'm pretty sure the message is loud and clear about where this is going. If you aren't 100% a lifer, you need to drop apps. No deal in December (projected NMB filing from earlier this year) should equal NMB in January. If six different companies either agreeing to a deal or voting down deals that are worlds better than the garbage they have offered so far doesn't clue them in, then we're in for a long haul.
6. I would expect that AR update you want to come Thursday or Friday next week after these negotiations. The real question is, will it be an AIP or a prepare for the NMB message?

I didn't get the IBT magazine. Did I miss anything? Could have been good toilet reading yesterday..
I did get my 2023 Holiday tree brass dangly thingy though. So it turns out I did miss something. The $50 of my dues it cost to produce and mail that stupid thing.
I'll criticize our union when warranted, and now is that time.
Stop wasting my money!

Those who made that choice last January have 2000 pilots behind them at any of the 3 legacy airlines. They'll make A320 CA any time ranging from next month to a couple years. Based on Delta's TA that UA and AA are sure to match or surpass, legacy A320 CA pay is almost double what G4 CAs make so the temporary pay hit isn't even that bad and easy to recoup. Not to mention 16%+ DC.
If you're lazy and own a boat and don't want to commute, that's fine, but there's a real good chance this great deal you have here is going to end unless you're in the top 10%. You may be kicking yourself that you missed the biggest hiring wave in your life. Oh and also AA's MIA base is junior and UA is opening bases in MCO and LAS... just saying.

It's been said, but let me say it again and put emphasis on it. Anyone who has the slightest desire to leave, but waits to see what happens here, is a complete idiot.

The company is smart AND they need everyone here for the busy spring and summer, there is no way they let it go to the NMB soon. They will move the needle just enough to keep you thinking there is a chance.
