What we have now is a 1st contract on the property. Of course it's not perfect Other "mainline" airlines have contracts that are 50+ years old that have gone through dozens of negotiating cycles. Andrew and Co. sold everyone on this narrative that the "previous administration" f'd everyone to turn the pilots against them and get what he wanted with his own kingdom... er Local, because they were the bosses in 1224 holding his reigns and purse strings and he didn't like that. But they really did the best they could at the time against Maury with the resources they had (a lot less than now). And let's face it, this negotiation is about to drag on a lot longer than that one did considering we aren't even in mediation yet. Yet nobody seems pi$sed at him for that and you still hear people taking the names of the "previous administration" key players in vain. Funny how the victors get to tell history.

Who would you like to have back?

I'm not going to name names of people no longer involved here on the open internet for everyone in the world to see and google, but if you look at Section 26 of the contract, you'll see the signatures and names of all the key players.... that is assuming you aren't asking me some odd trick question to prove a point. None, zero, zip, nada, nicht of those folks are currently involved or even consulted. They have all been demonized by this administration in its relentless quest for power and autonomy, yet they have defeated Maury once, albeit a small shallow victory.

You’re all missing the point - management seems to be approaching this negotiating cycle as if it’s 2009 & it doesn’t matter who’s sitting on our side of the table. And they’ll get a 2009-sized airline with 2009 revenues if this drags on for another couple years.

Maybe I missed it, has there been any talk of a strike? Still trying to figure out how all this works, and I don't have access to the current contract so I'm a bit out of my depth. Just trying to stay informed as I'm sitting on A CJO.

We can talk all we want but must follow the process of negotiating under the Railway Labor Act so we likely wouldn’t arrive at the point of a strike for maybe 3-4 more years.

This is bull****… if the company and union don’t get **** done soon I’m out… this place could be the best kept secret in the industry but pride and ego from the people involved will be our downfall.. everybody needs to get their backup plans in place.. negotiations taking months off for the holidays when this company is going down the toilet shows that nothing is gonna get done anytime soon. We’ll be lucky to have a contract by 2024 And probably much longer. Sad
