Contract negotiations

ALGT doesn't miss earnings forecasts often.
What? Maury's miracle run after rising from the ashes of Valujet 592 is coming to an end? Say it ain't so.
Couldn't be taking their eye off the ball as they play games to punish labor instead of running an airline. Naw.

Nothing lasts forever. It works, until it doesn’t anymore. Few recognize it in real time, in retrospect all the signs were there & it seems obvious.

Contract negotiations
Just a reminder it takes 8 years at allegiant to achieve year 2 pay as a captain at all the other airlines and 7 years as a FO to hit year 2 pay at other airlines with narrow body’s. This does not include soft pay like 401k DC matching, min days, duty and trip rigs, dead head 100% pay, vacation and sick pay counting towards days off, credit of sick and vacation time, which are are well below the standards of other airlines.
You can upgrade and make more at any legacy in 2.5 years and in 3-4 you would make your money back.
Your home every night but when when your deadheaded at 50% pay everywhere to max 117 on reserve, or 4 leg 9 hours of block 15 hour day being home your useless and all your doing is sleeping and playing catch up. If you didn’t wanna work that much then you can do 3 hour turns without a min day which are worth nothing without a min day.

I would suggest having one more beer and then hitting the sack.

Really? That's your rebuttal? He's not wrong. The legacy pay scales are available at this site. Do reserves here not get worked right up to 117 limits? I don't know where you're based (probably HQ or Avenger) but in my base its pretty much down to short turns which pay guarantee for the month or 14 hour 4 leg days that barely give you 11 hours on the ground between trips that leave you feeling like ass after the 2nd one. Sure you can make good money if you want to pick up VFNs or reserve days and give up your off days otherwise the fake PBS caps you outside of March and summer.
Face it, allegiant is for pilots who want to make okay money, not travel, and not work too hard. It's like a retirement job. Great if you've been washed out the bottom of this industry by the lost decade. Not great if you're young and have your whole career ahead of you.

Look all, I appreciate my very short time at Allegiant, and the crews have been mostly good to work with.
But “home every night” is code for “you’re gonna work more and you’re gonna be gone more” in a way that it’s hard to explain. Know that I’m one of the pilots who does move to junior bases to capitalize on seniority, not sitting in IWA, LAS, FL at the bottom of the list. I pity those pilots.
4-leggers on 12 hour duty days for 5.2 hours of block and a schedule that’s scattershot is tough. Additionally, dropping and trading trips is near impossible due to the scheduling. I will never understand why I have 3on-1off-1on-2off and someone else gets screwed as well with the inverse trip. Then you can’t trade out cause it breaks 117 rules in the present but not the end. I legitimately think the company has to manage this, along with LTD and a focus on retirement to be standard.
They won’t. And that’s why I’m leaving.

When is the next update from the union on how far away from an industry standard contract we still are?
Also, how do I initiate a vote to stop the union from taking an extra 1% from my pay. I personally think a 10 mil slush fund is enough to fight the company with.

Andrew's latest video said that the Union has not passed compensation and apparently won't pass compensation until United gets a TA? i was surprised he basically admitted that the Union is slow playing negotiations while they wait for the major airlines to TA their stuff. Negotiations don't get serious until compensation is on the table and Andrew just said that compensation won't be on the table until the legacies agree on a TA so we don't get leapfrogged again.
I 100% second your vote to stop the extra assessment. Not sure why we are paying significantly more in union dues than ALPA, I thought own local was supposed to result in LESS dues.
