Our initial training used to be a disaster many years ago but it's really come a long way. Over the last 3-5 years I've heard practically no complaints from the newhires. All airline training is challenging but they give you every tool available and want you to succeed. The only issue is that we use the full European FCOM which can be a little confusing and very extra on the callouts. No other airline says "checked" to everything like we do and constantly talk over each other with extra callouts. Very few airlines read every FMA change like we do.

Now our every 6 month job interview? That's another story. Often it's like they are just making it hard on purpose. If only we had AQP.

One step ahead of ya there. Seniority list will be one pilot shorter in a month. Sucks to leave G4 but I do think it’s been great here. There are just better companies that run as an airline.

The new hires i talk to have been pretty impressed with Ed. He does have an impressive resume and knows his stuff. I hope management doesn't grind him down to the point that he leaves...

Hopefully he sticks around long enough to make some permanent changes that will last.

Well I'm not sure how you drew a path from my saying the training department has improved over the last 5 years to Ed. Sure he's a great guy and all my UPS buddies rave about him, but I gather he's handcuffed by Maury just like all the other middle managers, except Tracy who likes it. He was brought in to finally get AQP running (it's his area of expertise) but instead he's writing a 737 program and making excuses in recurrent. Waste of his talent if you ask me, but nobody asked or cares.

Wasting the talent of the employees is one thing that G4 management is consistently good at.

I hope that union town hall was a wake up call to those who have been thinking a contract will be here within the next year or two. Expect much longer.

We’re not even in mediation. Expect at minimum another 2 years after that. And a stagnant/shrinking seniority list in the meantime.

For those who missed it, Allegiant management is so serious about getting us a new contract, they don’t even show up to meetings.

zero progress over the last 3 month. Expect a contract in 2-3 years from now. No change

Hearing the news today was disappointing. Seeing as how the peak of the airline retirements will not even occur for another 3 years, it seems more likely now then ever we will be unable to survive this meltdown. I admit, I was holding out just a little bit for the very slight chance of something happening this year because it seemed that it had to happen for us to survive, but its not going to happen.

Unfortunately I think this is the green light to captains who were thinking of going, but waiting for a new contract to hold them back. It's not going to happen, and it's time to move.
