Tell me again when the assessment ends? Seems revenue cutting in half would have an impact. But that's not what's happening here. I don't believe AR wants to drag it out management does. AR wants to make sure he always looks good even when he loses and that's normal for a fat cat union boss. His reno came out pretty well though don't you think? Love the mood lighting.
Lol. I'll trade you a tin foil hat for some of that kool-aid you've got.

what makes you think the company wants to drag it out… nothing they are saying helps them by dragging it out

But who’s koolaid am I drinking… the assessment ends when we get a new contract, which our new rates will more than make up for. As far as Andrew being fat cat union boss stealing all our money: we still got plenty in the bank (go watch that quarterly union video) much more transparency than when we were with 1224.

Why does the company want to drag this out? Because the bottom is about to drop out of the economy. People don't go on vacation when they're taking pay cuts and getting laid off. The ball is about to be in the company's court. Why would they want to settle now when demand for pilots and inflation as at record highs? It will cost them a lot more now than it will in a year or two. It's the union that should be rushing things. Maury is directly involved because the Tracy Jedi mind tricks didn't work and now he thinks he can sell us snake oil again. He thinks he can sell us a subpar deal now. Maury will never give us a fair contract. We can have money or a rewrite but not both. That's the nature of the beast working here. He'll tell you to your face this isn't United/Delta/American and if you want that you should go there.

Doesn’t matter who’s in the driver seat take the money take the re-write or whatever….they can’t help themselves….they can’t honor agreements just signed weeks ago with clear-cut language that isn't convenient for them. We won’t have T/A by Christmas or in 2 years or 5 years until this fundamentally changes & honestly I don’t see that happening - events will occur to make this whole discussion moot.

You’re probably right. Either way, a sizable sack of cash now could help stem new hire attrition just enough to keep small bases. With inflation keeping FO scales on the poverty line, will almost assuredly hinder Flint type bases. So long as the bottom 20% keep leaving, whatever expansion plans management wants real or not, won’t happen and will make small base strategy impossible.

You do realize that the 1.9m payout was for an arbitration over two years ago, right? AR will always take a dozen laps for a victory and remain completely silent when he loses. He's a politician and that's what all politicians do - i can't blame him but i don't have to drink stick my head in the sand and ignore reality. the reality is we haven't won an arbitration in over two years.
we have lost half a dozen in a row and the union is planning on losing the RAP min guarantee arbitration as well. So all of those on reserves will keep getting 72 PCH in July when they are working 21 days instead of the usual 18 reserve days. that would make it 7 losses in a row. not a good look when we have an additional assessment for union dues just for arbitration - makes you wonder why we are paying the highest union dues in the industry?
My question is: what changed? AR loved to tout how we had the best win percentage of any union in the industry. why are we losing every arbitration for the past 2 years? If the company is always violating the contract (which they do all the time) then why are we not winning these arbitrations? something changed but we will never know what it is because politicians only like transparency when it helps them...

these are not critiques of the union - they are doing what politicians do and that is telling us what the masses want to hear. i never liked the 1224 fit and i am glad we are not tied to them anymore. the critique is directed at you for guzzling the kool aid and then scolding those of us who recognize what a political messaging campaign looks like.

How does AR know how long it will take? he has literally never been in section 6 bargaining before. neither has the union lawyer. i don't think anybody from the union has ever participated in section 6 bargaining before - let alone bargaining with a federal mediator. this is what i mean by sticking your head in the sand. blindly believing what AR says in his videos - how does he know how long it will take? what is he basing this timeline off of? not the lawyer because our lawyer has never done RLA negotiations before.
