Contract negotiations

I get that professional pilots are a bit disconnected to what the rest of us make. But I am leaving a career in teaching to become a pilot, last year my contract was for $53k. I drove Uber weekends and during the summer so my 1040 says I made $63k last year. If you take out my mandatory retirement and health care I walked home with less than $1000 a week. Living off 50k a year, hell even raising a family on 50k a year isn't only doable a lot of Americans are doing it.
I made 15k a year flying turbo props to $hit hole towns around New Mexico sleeping in literal sheds on overnights. To then get paid 18k a year flying crjs in the hopes of one day landing my dream job, years of abuse later it finally happened. A lot of us are well aware of how to stretch a budget.
The point was anyone who defends $hit pilot salaries especially at the level required to be at allegiant is… yes an idiot
You sound like you’re in flight school so I get that your clueless to the industry. Roger Cohen who was a total slime ball ( used to be the president of the RAA) almost verbatim said the exact same line in an interview on night line years ago in defense of terrible pilot wages at the time. “Family’s make it work all across America”therefore it’s totally acceptable?? It's nice being respected for your skills and experience and treated like an adult. And compensated appropriately for that.
It's not about being a troll or even about defending the company. I'm just tried of all the glass half thirty, sky is falling, personalities on here. Is it fair? No. Is it doable? Absolutely.
Everyone loves their "GeT yOUr UnItEd ApPs In" replies. But all the ones consistently crying about it never seem to actually leave.
I know I'll catch all the hate for daring to point this out. But I feel like it needed to be said.

In other news I heard a rumor Tracy Toolbag finally got fired? If that's true sounds like things are looking up for you guys. I always said there would be a management shakeup before a new contract was signed and Tracy knew when she signed on to be the bad cop that she would be the fall guy.

I'm here to tell you that the grass is a lot greener.

I did. No regrets. Nice troll account.

If you're getting LIESer, be prepared...will knife a person in the back in a second. Lots of people in the training department several years ago learned this the hard way.

Any actual updates this month on the mediation process? Granted, it's only been a little over a month since mediation started. Have there been any meetings or updates since then? (CJO in hand...)
