Not a doom and gloom guy but when I get an email from the company telling me about how excited they are are the mediator assignmented by the NMB I have to assume we are screwed. An email gloating to the pilot group about the assigned mediator...this place will never change

Love the Q & A that just came out...they can't wait to explain to the mediator how different and special Allegiant's business model is (code for "here's why we have to still run the airline with 2006 work rules")

For the hundreth time......IBT will negotiate the best industry-standard contract possible.....management decides how to run the airline.

The mediator will never motivate the company. The only thing that will motivate them, is one day they show up in Summerlin and the Chairman decides he wants it done.

Currently Allegiant is the only management team in the USA that is unconcerned about pilot staffing at retainment. Either Allegiant is the smartest and most forward thinking management team in the industry, or.....

Upgrade at DL is now at 5 months (August 22 hire) on the 75/76 NYC. At the new contract rate, FIRST YEAR pay is $316 per hour. Long call will go up to 18 hours, with a max of six short call periods per month. And if you want to still be home every night? We have a bunch of single-day trips that just sit in open time. Live in base and continue going to work with only a lunch bag.

Changing companies in a seniority-driven industry is difficult. So is the prospect of going on first year pay. But you’ll get to an airline that has some integrity and you’ll wonder why you didn’t leave that abusive relationship sooner.

Oh we are going to be released from mediation there is no doubt in my mind. Let's just get through this mediator as quickly as possible, it probably won't take too long for her to see that company simply won't compromise on matters industry standard and she will be left wondering what she is even doing here. But that's ok. One way or the other things are going to be changing around here. Company's best bet is to probably dissect the hotel(s) from the airline and put us for sale.

Who wants a resort in Punta Gorda? The only way the hotel works is if they keep the airline moving pax into PGD.

They do. And I do not think that is it, I think the airline is able to give them 0 interest loans to finance their true objective which is the hotels.

How much money are they investing in Hotels over the next couple of years compared to how much are they investing in new airplanes?

Cmon Tom, you know better than that. There will NEVER be a release for self help.

It's rare, but I have to agree with Rockwood. This lady's bio screams of management bias. She has spent a whole career beating up labor and ruling over her employees with an iron fist. She and Maury are peas in a pod and he shouldn't have bought a better mediator. It sounds like she was literally Tracy T at another airline.

I think it's very unlikely she will see management as the problem. There will be no release. After a year or so of negotiations, Maury will float an offer a single digit percentage below the other airlines (less because "unique business model") and she'll give the union a take it or leave it proposition and threaten to recess (park) negotiations for a year if they don't.
