I think she is exactly who AR and his culinary attorney wanted. I bet they handpicked her. AR probably used his army of lobbyists and IBT brand to get the perfect mediator for us.
Or at least that’s what we will be told. This looks like a huge L for the union. Feels like MG is playing chess and we are playing checkers. Curious to see what AR has to say about it.
Look at the resumes of the other mediators, it seriously looks like MG handpicked the exact mediator he wanted.

It also helps when the pilot group knows what managements goals are for the company. In the case of delta they have clear goals and open strategy for achieving those goals. Increasing market share and an expanding airline are part of the plan. I think the biggest hurdle to effectively negotiating with MG is knowing what he’s actually set as a goal. No one really knows besides MG. I think he’s perfectly happy shrinking the airline to a size that’s sustainable under its current contract but that’s just a guess. And any theory otherwise is equally a guess.

nah. They had to work hard for the contract. Hard to say which ceo hates pilots more between delta and allegiant. Easy to see which union leadership has its stuff together. But the delta pilot group sets a high bar. They figured out what works and it’s not *****ing at fellow pilots about premium.

I’ll be one year into a legacy in a couple weeks. Allegiant was not a bad job. Don’t miss it at all though…

You brag as if your future is secure. The only thing you for sure will have is a seniority number to hopefully come back to if/when you get furloughed on the next downturn. That's what most of us have/will have being at a legacy on the next economic downturn. Which is coming. Just a matter of time.

Just remember Allegiant has 50 possibly 100 brand-new airplanes coming that carry a payment due every month. No more paid-for fleet park ‘em and laugh at the legacies during the next oil crisis/recession; Allegiant will be in the same boat.

Good point. People also forget quickly what happened during the worst sudden pax demand drop-off in aviation history. G4 furloughed out of union busting spite while legacy offered big early retirement packages and purple/brown were maxing out hiring. If there is any excuse to furlough again G4 would probably be the first and maybe only again.
