What are the chances that Allegiant will open a PDX base in the future?

Little to none. Very little flying comparatively. Even though West Coast flying as basically no mid-con bases, I don't think PDX is anywhere close to a base. Fresno or Stockton would become bases before PDX.

Sept vacancy out and only one 2021 new hire has been able to claim a Florida vacancy (FLL) thus far. It does not become effective until Jan 31st... going to be a tough road for all of the current and future new hires who want FL or Knoxville... Quick glance shows what looks like 8 FOS waiting to get into TYS alone...

Vacancies available immediately for new hires are mostly in the West (LAS 9 /IWA 7 /BLI 1), FNT 9, AUS 7, ABE 3, and DSM 5.

How did FLL pop up? Was that a fluke? Does that also mean nobody in the company wanted that vacancy so it went to a new hire?

someone (or multiple) in FLL upgraded or moved bases, so they awarded the resulting secondary vacancies to pilots on the list in seniority order. Someone from the July 12th class got it. Lots of pilots on property junior to him or her that want it too but didn’t get it. So someone starting today, or in 2, 4 , 6, 8 etc weeks has an uphill battle.
