now it’s 1000 fixed wing multi and 500 PIC airplane (not TPIC) for a total of 1500. It changed.

They want regional FOs with little or no TPIC, which typically prevents them from leaving for another airline.

I also got a video invite. Allegiant is the only airline that has contacted me and they did so pretty quick. (Af veteran, A&P license,,international drone experience, BS aviation degree. Going on 4 years at a regional. 3300tt 1800+ Multi engine turbine 400TPIC.
Although I’m having serious second thoughts after finding out about the FL base situation. Lengthy times to hold any of those and potentially a career FO has me on the fence. Seems like a decent gig overall though.

I feel like it’s a “Get in where you can, and take better options later should they arise” situation.

Yeah it definitely could be. I can’t imagine ever having an A320 type will hurt you…but if hiring elsewhere requires a semi hard number of TPIC hours and you don’t have those when you start at Allegiant it could be a career killer. By the time I can upgrade at Allegiant I don’t think I would leave. Unless you were 23 when you hired.

I'd agree with you. Almost all majors/LCC don't require TPIC anymore but with so many resumes on file that have it, you would have to really stand out without it. SIC airbus time is not even significant on a resume compared to TPIC time. The day trips are really nice but if I was at a regional and wanted to live in FL, I would be trying for NK since they plan to triple their MCO base and make it their largest domicile. A new hire there could hold a nice line in the left seat in just a few years with all those orders coming in. The only way for G4 to compete with that and keep attrition down would be adding industry leading pay rates/work rules to balance out the extended time in the right seat.

I have an app there that I regularly update. Recently sent in an internal rec too. Nothing yet. And I’m hearing of FOs with no TPIC getting calls. It’s odd.
