GRR will be probably always be junior, even the "senior bases" are not really junior because there is constant churn at the low end if you don't mind being reserve. Even BLI had a FO opening about a month ago.

I tried to post a picture of it but I couldn't get hte url to work. if you're interested I can send it to you.

Heres the basic numbers of total pay assuming I get a line in year three at 9E taking my hrs from 75 to 85 and going from 100 hrs to 300 for perdiem which is typical for a month. ALso assuming I get a line at Allegiant in Yr 3 taking my min from 70 to 72 ...I didn't know what a realistic credit per month would be for a line there. Also I assume upgrade Year 5 and back to reserve.
Year Dif Total Dif
Year One 79200 47880 -33600 -33600
Year Two 83280 84840 +1560 -32040
Year Three 98160 92448 -8232 -40272
Year Four 100272 96600 -6120 -46392
Year Five 106800 158760 +58560 +12168 The magic Happens here and just gets better of course

Those are worse case numbers. I’m on year 3 f/o pay and average above 10k a month. I don’t count per diem or bonus money in that figure.

I’m sure it varies heavily on base but I’m usually getting at least 90-95hrs/mo after a couple of open time pickups....everything above 81hrs pays at 130% too. Pure reserve will be harder as you don’t have as many days off to fill in with open time flying but I’d think 80-85hrs is fairly doable on reserve.

I am in a senior FO Base and most months I am on reserve on third year pay. On reserve months I have to hustle really hard to get credit into the low 80s. When I can hold a line or composite, I can usually get into the low 90s. I have broken 100 on reserve but it is hard to do.

At Allegiant you won’t use your per diem like you would at a regional. You can pack a PBJ sandwich for your out and back trip here and not spend your per diem money on airport food. Home by the afternoon and your lunch will be ready at home. A lot of airports we fly into don’t even have a starbucks. The only exception is if you fly into KLIT where there is a Chikfila in which case you could possibly spend more. This is one thing to consider. At a regional you get more per diem but you also need to eat out a lot more. Plus year 2 onwards assuming you live in base it’s possible to make really good money with premium pay SAP etc. My advice to my friends at regionals has always been to leave the regionals.

Most FO's at Allegiant are making 6 figures by year 3. Plenty of FO's are in the $140-200k range.

OK ok. You guys have me convinced. I actually got a call last night from somebody apologizing that he was off Friday and didn't know I was on his schedule. Unfortunatly I was trying to feed my grandson dinner and that is usually a two person job so I couldn't do it right then. he wanted me to email the person I'd been talking to fo scheduling to get something lined up.... Just waiting on a reply now. Almost got my wife on board too...
