Interestingly enough.... I had a very similar experience with ameriflight and then picked up a job at Endeavor 3 years ago so I'm keeping my fingers crossed

Zilch
Did you email to ask why? If not, you should.

If you would like someone to shoot an email to the Chief Pilots, I can do that.

You should refrain from posting if you aren't going to be helpful. It's just being a good human.

Your opinion is well known in these parts junior. You can blow all the sunshine up their arses you want to. I'm going to offer a different view of what it's like here. We owe them that. Anyone who wants to work here needs to know what they are getting into. It's not all about sleeping in your bed every night and flying easy round trips. This airline has really great and really bad items and we owe it to them to show both sides.

And believe me those of us considering moving to Allegiant certainly appreciate both sides of the coin. I'm old enough to understand that there are people who will never be happy with any situation they're just as those with the perpetual smile that you just want to punch.

I am nearly off the fence as far as making the switch but the one big mental obstacle for me is then possibility of getting a base other than GRR. I commute to DTW where I am currently based with a regional so it's not an awful QOL at the moment. Sleeping in my bed every night is certainly appealing but does it out weigh the loss of Delta travel bennies along that first year pay cut? A spreadsheet I made revealed that in just short of four years I'd break even in base pay at minimums and no per diem.

Decisions decisions.... Where's my magic eight ball....

I hate to say this, but you may have missed the boat on GRR. They are going to fill it with the first two classes who are already scheduled. As said before they posted 18 FO vacancies there recently and current pilots don't want it. I'm not saying you won't get it eventually though because those who don't want it will bid out leaving backfill spots but you may not get it as your initial base you may have to wait a few months. I think GRR will always be junior for FOs though. The current based most likely to get newhire assignments over the next 6 months are GRR, SAV, PIE, PGD, FLL, SFB, and LAS. Theres also rumors of new bases coming soon places being tossed around are JQF, BLV, LCK, RFD, MEM, BNA. All of those except BNA will go very junior so add those to the list newhires could get especially those hired toward the end of this wave. And that said don't wait. Those here who were hired at the end of the last wave hate their lives because they got stuck.

According to the standing bid updated 2 days ago we have 3 FOs based there (18 needed) and there's ZERO people bidding GRR FO as their first choice.
Dude go for it.

There are more GRR vacancies open than all of the other bases combined.

Getting GRR right out of training won’t be an issue! (Also curious with you’re spreadsheet, how long after breaking even in four years do you make up for the loss of pay by coming over? Or is that part of the four years?

If you get in soon, you should have no issue getting to GRR. With 18 vacancies they will be stuffing everyone they can in those spots. 99% of them will not want to be there and will bid out as soon as they can. Your chances are good if you get in now. The longer you wait, the more likely that some of those people who get "stuck" in GRR will find that they like it and put down roots. (More likely to happen towards the end of the hiring wave than at the beginning.)
