Wow... what an a-hole. Kudos to the controller for keeping his cool, I would have made him call the tower, then chewed him out.

Soooo let me get this straight...we miss a call particularly around ORD, ATL, or EWR, and we get crucified by ATC. This *sshole actually blocks the frequency during an emergency, and all he gets is "call back if you want!".
He could have compromised the safety of that flight, there is a reason why they have to sterilize the airspace for so many miles....what a tool, if it was up to me, he'd never touch an airplane again.

I just sent him a copy of the FAR's. Nothing more, despite my personal feelings, as a professional pilot I represent the company I fly for, so is better if I don't let him know what an @sshole he is for potentially compromising an emergency.
Maybe, just maybe the feds will do their job and pay him a visit.
