Looking for info on SFB and PIE. Read through this thread. Getting a little bit of conflicting info. One post said most junior FO at SFB was a year but another post said could hold it within 6mo of hire. Please clarify how long to hold SFB or PIE for new hire. Thanks!

If you’re looking for a guarantee that’s simply not possible. For a long time there were zero vacancies in SFB. A few more senior FO’s finally had enough and bailed, which opened up some spots for some junior guys. Those have been filled, and there won’t be more until somebody else leaves. When that will happen is impossible to predict.

These are really small bases even SFB is only a few dozen FO’s. So a few guys in the class prior to you want SFB it can throw your timeline by a year, easily.

I held PGD after 5 months and move to PIE after 7 months

bases are small, movement is impossible to predict. The bases you’re looking for are old and established. The possible time frame is anywhere from immediately to years…

Wow, I suspect a mass pria request incoming. I'm going to have to talk it over with the wife about applying, even with being older and in about the top 25% of the total list here.

Trust me, it's well worth the change. There's no comparison between how the two places are operated.

Most commutable base from BOS that a new hire could hold quickly? (Is there such a place?)
