Allegiant Bases

My favorite rhetoric is that new hires will never hold the established bases….
yet…
bli is now going to new hires….
and if everyone is leaving…
would not that open up spots in established base?
the guys on here are self serving, do your research talk to the people that are happy to be here, pm me I’ll give you a handful of people to talk to.

if you're going to "set the record straight" at least tell the truth.

BLI always seems to have a couple open spots….it’s the most senior base, no one’s leaving on the CA side & retirements don’t kick in for a couple more years when the (by then) 14-year top couple FO’s can finally upgrade. So no upward movement for now. It’s also very expensive especially on Allegiant 50k first year pay. They come in & move on ASAP but yes - if you really want - and can afford - to live there, and don’t mind being a junior FO for a long time, you can have the base of your choice, like ABE, FNT, ATW. As usual on here the company apologists not telling the whole story - why not ask some of the recent classes how long the wait for IWA currently is?

You would think, but they are not backfilling vacancies at a rate that matches departures. They need people in the newer, generally less-desirable bases, and would rather staff exceptionally lean in the larger bases or reduce flights accordingly. Sure, vacancies do open up, but with no growth it’s slow and progression is pretty much non-existent.

While it is true that with patience you’ll get to whatever base you want, you have to make sure the entire story is told. That includes the fact that there is complete stagnation in the big bases, especially the Florida ones. Once you get there, you’ll be stuck in the bottom half of the FO list there with no end in sight. That’s not the kind of life you want here. Seniority is everything at this airline.

So when you say things like “memo from the CEO” That’s a lie.
also, SFB, PGD, FLL are all being awarded to people with less than 6 months on property.
so not to new hires, but basically…

Thanks for your service to the USA….
A little hard to answer those questions with any accuracy, but we do have some data to give you a general idea. Any AUS-based pilots (I’m not) could probably give you better intel.
TDY: looking back it appears FO’s were TDY’d out of AUS almost every month this year although that doesn’t necessarily mean that’s permanent. But to answer your question if you get there and then are stuck at the bottom you might be in for a stretch of TDY.
Right now it looks like 2 FO’s are waiting to get into AUS with none wanting to bid out, although this isn’t based on ironclad data. So it appears you might have to wait a bit; hard to say with these small bases.
Schedules are 11 or 12 days off if you’re on reserve and they basically own you although reserves in the smaller bases don’t seem to suffer the abuse the large bases do. Once you get a regular line trips either report early AM or early PM, with some variation. They’re out-and-back; 2 legs (sometimes 4) and you’re back home.
Also suggest if you haven’t already done so reading through the Allegiant threads on here will be worth your time. Lot’s of caveats to “home every night”, lot’s of things potentially in flux here.

congests and thanks for your service. There has been a bit of TDY out of Austin this year, throughout spring and early summer.

I'll place my record here and predictions against your weird obsession with trolling me any day.
Also, I find it ironically hilarious that you correct me on the technicality that JR's statement about shrinking the company wasn't a "memo", then go on to state that those with 6 months are getting established bases but "technically" not new hires when I said "don't expect XYZ as a new hire". Apparently you like to have it both ways. Not that there's anything wrong with that.
