Also, how many pilots are in TYS, is it a fairly large and productive base?

Thanks!
You asked about BNA as well. On the most recent vacancy, one July hire and two August hires were awarded BNA. So if you don't mind that commute, the wait time isn't that long. Pretty sure those guys are still in training. (YMMV, PPDNGFR).

That commute is better than what I have been doing, plus it would be in my car which is a lot more predictable. Hopefully the interview goes well, thanks everyone!

As a new hire you can expect to be in ATW, DSM, ABE, or FNT. Minimum 6 months.

Good, I want to be in DSM. The model of Allegiant, from my life experiences of being gone from home in the mil, is actually the end goal airline. Cant get there soon enough.

PVU will have plenty of spots for NH. Junior FOs keep bidding out of it on vacancy bids.

yea. Or they quit when they realize yes, it might actually take 2 years to hold IWA.

Oh those poor lambs being led to the slaughter. Remember, getting your chosen base is not the end of the suck. From there you need to gain seniority to avoid involuntary TDY for months at a time, reserve where no days are guaranteed off due to a poor grievance settlement agreement, and moving reserve time blocks at the end of a group of days just in case you're a commuter.

Allegiant might be a good fit for you. What is not clear though is if all these small bases will survive. The small base strategy solves a lot of logistical problems such as the inability to have all of your aircraft in the same bases each night, ie running out of gate space. But there are problems with it too, I do not think they took into account how difficult it was going to be to staff the flight attendants. Then of course the likelihood we will not be the same airline in the future with pilot staffing problems and consolidation of the smaller carriers.

What kind of schedules exist at CVG? I live an hour away, wondering with the daily turns what the trips look like. Is that 0500-1700 chock to chock? or something different? I'd like a realistic idea of what an FO should expect, especially since I have a short commute.
